In the first half he caught fire, scoring eighteen points, and although they would cool off, he continued plays with a high motor. College coaches at the JC and D2 levels have shown interest over the past few months.
Pine Forest Sophomore Darris Simmons Darris Simmons 5'10" | SG Pine Forest | 2024 NC : He has embraced the sixth man role over the last few games, and he brings in a nice offensive spark off the bench. Getting to the spots that he wants and scoring at high level was what we saw from him throughout the day in their matchup with FCA. He can knock down shots, beat defenders off the dribble and score inside over taller defenders.
71st Junior Forward Jared Davis Jared Davis 6'5" | PF Seventy-First | 2023 State NC : So far this season he has been one of the most consistent players in the county and he stepped up to make some big plays for his team on Monday. He battled inside for rebounds and interior buckets but also showed his ability to step outside and knock down shots.
New Life Christian Senior Guard Demetrius Polk: Easily put together one of the top defensive performances of any player on the day. He drew at least three charges in the first half, defended multiple positions and applied a nice amount of on-ball pressure without fouling.
Northwood Temple Junior Cannon Keziah Cannon Keziah 6'1" | CG Northwood Temple Academy | 2023 State NC : His ability to knock down the trey ball is what he’s known for and that’s what we saw on Monday. He is a confident shooter, has nice range on his shot and is consistent percentage wise, regardless of how he is being defended.
Freedom Christian Senior Wing Jacob Dar: He provided a high amount of scoring for his team in the second half of their matchup with PFHS. Although the game was pretty much already out of reach, he showed some flashes of the offensive talent he has to go with his 6’6 height.
