Jack Campion Jack Campion 5'10" | PG Milton | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – Milton
There’s gonna be a lot of schools kicking themselves when they look back on this recruitment. A sure-fire Division 1 talent, Campion had 24 points and a handful of rebounds and assists to pace Milton. Campion scored nine points off the bat and quickly forced Middleton into a zone. If the senior guard has any room to operate, he’s simply too quick to handle. Campion has elite level speed on the ball and it takes multiple defenders in the paint to stop him. When he gets in the open floor, Campion can finish at top-end speed and features a deep finishing package as well. Also a terrific 3-point shooter with extended range, he’s gonna force defenders to come out well past the arc, essentially making them pick their poison. Per his AAU coach, Northern Illinois has extended a walk-on offer. There are a few other D1 programs sniffing around as well. Despite his size (5-11), Campion isn’t a defensive liability. In fact, he excels on that end of the floor as well.
Ayden Goll – 2024 – G – Milton
Goll has been giving Milton about nine points per game this season and did just that on Tuesday. When the defense started to focus on Campion, Goll hit some back-breaking shots that helped blow the game open for the Red Hawks. Goll had a nice little spurt in the second half where he hit a corner 3-pointer followed by a tough, athletic finish at the rim. The 5-foot-10 guard is an excellent outside shooter. Also a guard with some handles, Goll does a great job of getting defenders off their feet to open up an occasional dribble-drive.
Gavyn Hurley Gavyn Hurley 6'4" | CG Middleton | 2023 State WI – 2023 – G – Middleton
Hurley did most of his damage late as he was trying to rally Middleton. The junior guard finished with a team-high 17 points. Hurley has really good positional size at 6-foot-5. He’s more of a point guard, but can do some things off the ball. Hurley checks the boxes for floor vision and feel for the game. He’s at his best when the floor his spaced, attacking gaps, and whipping the ball cross-court to his teammates for open shots. The Cardinals went cold in the second half and Hurley took it upon himself to carry the offense. Not an overly great outside shot creator yet, but once Hurley gets into the paint, he uses his size well to play over the top, can finish with either hand, and has above average body control. Defensively, Hurley was very effective at the top of the zone. He got his hands on a number of passes and made things difficult on Milton, not allowing the ball into the middle. One of those players you just don’t worry about as a coach, Hurley plays mistake-free basketball and makes the right plays at the right time.
Brogan McIntyre Brogan McIntyre 6'5" | SF Milton | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SF – Milton
McIntyre had a few momentum-changing plays on Tuesday. The 6-foot-6 wing threw down two dunks en route to 10 points. A bouncy, athletic prospect, McIntyre plays above the rim with ease. Thought he rebounded pretty well for his position. Milton doesn’t play with a true post prospect and McIntyre is often the biggest player on the floor for them. He battled hard on the glass and if he wasn’t coming up with the ball, was tipping it away from the opposition. Didn’t show it on Tuesday, but McIntyre can knock down the 3, plays off dribble penetration, and spaces the floor.
Logan Raffel Logan Raffel 5'11" | PG Middleton | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Middleton
Raffel didn’t shoot it as well as he would have liked, but chipped in with 13 points. The senior guard was hot early and then couldn’t get some great looks to go down. Averaging 11 points per game this season, Raffel is a crafty shooter that can free himself on or off the ball. Raffel is going to make his hay from the outside, but has some sneaky athleticism. He’s quick off the catch, has skill, and releases the ball quickly on his shot. Raffel also frees himself well with ball fakes. When Middleton has an advantage in numbers, he’ll manipulate defenders and move them to the point where it will allow a rhythm jumper.
