Let’s take a glance at some players that put together impressive performances and have helped to potentially increase their recruitment stock.
St.Pauls Senior Guard Jeyvian Tatum Jeyvian Tatum 6'3" | CG St Paul's | 2022 State NC : He began the season as one of the best unsigned Guards in the area and he continues to show why colleges should be giving him a call. In their matchup with Scotland, he went for a game high of twenty-seven points, with nineteen points coming in the first half.
Dudley HS Senior Guard Spencer Hairston: We got the opportunity to see him during the summer and fall of 2021 and were very impressed with his ability to score the ball. He’s continued to progress and is scoring the ball at a very high level once again this season with his last performance being a thirty point game against Quality Education. He’s efficient, has a quick release and doesn’t allow himself to get sped up often.
Goldsboro HS Junior Wing Ta’Korrie Faison Ta’Korrie Faison 6'7" | PF Goldsboro | 2023 State NC : He’s off to a great start this season, already leading his team to a Christmas Tourney Championship and earning MVP honors last month. On Friday night against Princeton he put together one of his best performances, scoring forty-three points and pulling down eighteen rebounds to lead his team to a win. There is no doubt that he can play on the next level and college coaches should be watching him closely.
Living Water Christian Sophomore Guard Derrick Benbow Jr Derrick Benbow Jr 6'3" | CG White Oak | 2024 State NC : Night in and night out he has put up big time numbers and Friday night was no different. Benbow went for thirty-three points in their matchup with NBCA and continues to prove why his name should be on their radar of college coaches.
Purnell Swett Senior Guard Ethan Brewington Ethan Brewington 5'8" | SG Dillon Christian | 2022 NC : Our first introduction to Ethan was during the Robeson County Shootout where he was able to lead his team to the championship with a big time shooting performance in the second half. On Friday night he showcased that same stellar shooting once again, break a school record by knocking down ten three pointers in their win over DBHS.
New Hanover Senior Wing Mikhail Pocknett Mikhail Pocknett 6'6" | PF New Hanover | 2022 State NC : His team is arguably the hottest team in the state, currently undefeated at 12-0, with the majority of their wins coming by a large margin. Night in and night out he produces at a high level and on Friday night he went for twenty-two points and nine rebounds. The 6’6 strong prospect that can dominate games on the boards and with buckets, should be getting calls from colleges immediately.
