Jackson Wilhelmson (6’4 2023 W, Kenosha Indian Trail)- An under-the-radar player in the 2023 class, Jackson was a nice surprise in ITA’s game against Racine Park. The 6’4 wing led all scorers with 23 points, and scored the ball in a variety of ways. Finished at the rim using his size and strength while also stepping out and knocking down four 3’s. That type of range forces his man to step out on him, but most guys his size aren’t agile to move their feet with him off the dribble. Jackson also showed some craftiness, inbounding the ball off of a defender’s back and finishing the play off with a lay-up.
Learic Davis Learic Davis 6'7" | SF Milwaukee Bradley Tech | 2022 State WI (6’7 2022 W, Milwaukee Bradley Tech)- Learic is on a mission to help his team win the City Conference this year, and he put in a big time performance in a win over Rufus King earlier in the week. His type of athleticism at 6’7 is hard to find anywhere else in the country, as he’s so fast getting up the floor, and has rare explosiveness to get up and finish at the rim. With that athleticism, he’s also showcased an improved jumper off the dribble, and he was hitting shots from mid-range and three throughout the game. Add in excellent passing vision when he gets into the lane to dump it off to his bigs in the dunker spots, and he creates so many points for his team. Defensively his length allows him to guard anywhere on the floor at the high school level. Finished the game with 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Willie Williams Willie Williams 6'0" Racine Park | 2024 WI Jr. (6’ 2024 PG, Racine Park)- Willie continues to show why he could be a major threat in the SEC over the next couple of years. The sophomore had one of his best games of the season on Thursday, putting up a team high 20 points. He’s so tough to keep out of the lane, as he’s quick and keeps his handle low to the ground making it difficult for defenders to pick off. Once he gets you on his hip it’s over as he’s able to burst to the rim to finish. One of the craftier finishers in his class as he has touch with both hands, can convert on some tough reverse finishes, and also does a great job of keeping his eyes on the rim through contact. Also flashed some shooting touch from beyond the arc.
Tayshawn Bridges Tayshawn Bridges 6'2" | CG Milwaukee Academy of Science | 2024 #86 Nation GA (6’2 2024 G, Milwaukee Academy of Science)- Tayshawn came off the bench on Sunday as MAS played a game in Chicago, and he led the team with 21 points. Matched up against one of the top senior guards in the Chicago area, Tayshawn more than held his own on both ends. He does a great job of cutting guys off on screens, and he has great hands to often strip the ball from them as they aren’t able to react quickly enough. Once he gets out in transition you may as well put two points on the board, as he can finish above the rim when he has the space, otherwise he’s almost an automatic finisher even in traffic. Does a great job of accelerating into the lane in the half-court, and has the body/strength to take some bumps and maintain possession as he gets all the way to the basket.
Seth Trimble Seth Trimble 6'3" | PG Menomonee Falls | 2022 State #50 Nation WI (6’3 2022 PG, Menomonee Falls)- Seth has been on another level throughout the month of January, as he’s led his team to wins over top teams in Wisconsin and Minnesota. This past week it was a 37 point game against Brookfield Central, as well as 32 points against Kimberly that set him apart from any other point guard in the state. He’s just so calm with the ball in his hands, and effortlessly glides around the floor before pulling up for high percentage shots in the mid-range. No other guard has been able to react quick enough/elevate enough to contest his pull-up jumper this month. Add into that the fact that he can get to the basket and hang in the air for what seems like an eternity before throwing down a dunk or laying it in, and he’s just so difficult to stop. Defensively he has no problem taking on the other team’s best player as well, no matter their size.
MJ Stackhouse (6’7 2024 PF/C, Kenosha Indian Trail)- As a sophomore MJ doesn’t have the biggest role with this ITA team, but when given the opportunity he’s shown he can produce. Against Racine Park the sophomore forward put up 15 points while swatting a handful of shots on the other end. He’s one of the most explosive forwards you’ll find not only in the 2024 class, but in the state as a whole. MJ can explode off of two feet, but has also gotten more comfortable off of one foot, allowing him to make more plays off the dribble in transition. He exploded for a pair of dunks while finishing off a few other looks inside. Defensively he has the frame to defend down low, excellent timing to send shots flying back to where they came from, and the mobility to move his feet with smaller players.
Armani Jones Armani Jones 5'8" | PG Brown Deer | 2022 State WI (5’8 2022 PG, Brown Deer)- Don’t let his size fool you, as this senior point guard is tough to guard. His quickness with the ball allows him to pick his spots on the floor and get to them whenever he wants to. Against South Milwaukee that resulted in him knocking down three triples, as well as hitting some tough pull-up jumpers. He gets solid elevation so that he can get his shot off over longer defenders, but he’s also not afraid to get in the paint and get guys in the air with a quick head-fake before looking to score. Had a pair of impressive blocks defensively too, using his timing to swat them away at the peak of his jump before the shooter had a chance to fully elevate.
