Both squads played 2-3 zone during the game and there was plenty of exciting action throughout. The first quarter was a back and forth affair and we ended with a tie at 14. The Braves got hot and made a mini-run before half and Marty went into the half up by 5. The 3rd quarter was controlled by the Braves. They built their lead to12 points. However, the Chiefs did not give up. They battled back with some stops and big shots, Crazy Horse went into the 4th down by 6 points. In the 4th, the game really started to get interesting. Crazy Horse tied the score with 6:00 left in the game. Shortly after they would take the lead, but Marty grabbed it right back and led until the last few seconds of regulation. Crazy Horse hit a 3-pointer with about 8 seconds left on the clock to tie it all up and send the game into overtime. Marty took care of business in OT and won by 2 points. Crazy Horse had a chance for the win with a buzzer-beater. If you are a Chief fan you think the player was fouled. If you are a Brave fan you think it was clean. It was a fun game either way and I saw some impressive players. Read below for comments on the standout players.

Impressive Chiefs
Jaysen Meeter Jaysen Meeter 6'3" | SG Crazy Horse | 2022 State SD (2022) |6-3 G|
25 points, 3 3-balls. He is a slasher and a scorer. Meeter was getting into the heart of the defense all game. Jaysen has great handles and super long arms. He scores in transition and Meeter can finish in traffic. I was impressed with how Jaysen drew contact around the basket. His shooting range is nearly unlimited. In the second half, Jaysen nailed a big 3-pointer to take the lead. This kid is a baller and a big-time scoring threat.
Noah Iron Horse (2023) |6-3 G|
6 points. He excelled at picking off passes on defense and grabbing offensive rebounds. Noah is not afraid to dive on the court for the ball. Iron Horse dished out multiple dimes and he was fast in transition. Noah is a coast-to-coast player.
Brain Yellow Elk (2022) |6-4 F|
10 points, 2 3-balls. He is a strong player that does not back down from anyone. Yellow Elk can board up, hit 3’s, and play fast. With under a minute in OT, Yellow Elk was fouled on a made 3-pointer, he cashed in the FT for a 4-point play.
Preston Hawkins Preston Hawkins 6'7" | PF Crazy Horse | 2022 State SD (2022) |6-7 F|
6 points. He is a long player that had a big impact on the game. Hawkins blocked shots, grabbed many O-boards, and provided length in the middle of the Chief zone. Preston skied up in the air multiple times to block shots. When Hawkins had the ball around the basket, I liked his patience. He let the D fly by and he drew the foul.
Trey Lamont (2023) |5-9 G|
3 points, 1 3-ball. He grabbed a long rebound that got tipped out to him. Trey grabs it, takes a step back, and drills the 3-ball homerun! Tie game at 50-50. CLUTCH shot, to say the least!
Impressive Braves
Elijah Walker (2022) |6-8 C|
6 points. He hit a 15-foot bank shot to start the game. Walker also knocked down a big 15-foot jumper in OT. Elijah blocked multiple shots and he contested many more. Walker’s other bucket came after an offensive rebound. His length and size are vital for the Braves.
Tate Elk Solider (2025) |5-11 G|
17 points, 3 3-balls. Tate was hot from behind the arc in the first half. He spaced well and spotted up for open looks. Tate had an important basket to end the 3rd before the clock expired. On defense, Tate created problems and turned the ball over. He had a crucial breakaway basket in OT. Tate caught a fullcourt over-the-shoulder pass. It looked like he was catching a fade-ball on the football field.
Benico Zephier (2022) |5-11 G|
11 points. He is a smooth character and a shifty guard. Benico has a nice jumper and a smooth floater. He has good footwork and he can throw the fullcourt pass like a QB. I like how Benico creates for others and he never stops playing hard.
Greg Zephier (2024) |5-7 G|
5 points. He delivered many nice passes. Greg also has a quick and smooth 15-foot jump shot. Greg impressed me with his ball movement and hustle.
Haepi Elk Solider (2024) |5-11 G|
10 points. He shoots his three’s with a super quick release. Haepi is a finger-roll artist. He is a skilled and creative passer. I also liked how he snuck inside and grabbed multiple O-rebounds.
