SPRINGFIELD, MA—In the Mid-1980s the college basketbal world was witnessing a future NBA talent in Louisville standout Milt Wagner as he led his team to the 1986 NCAA Championship. His son Dejuan Wagner played one year at Memphis before entering the NBA Draft where he played a few seasons. The legacy continues as DJ Wagner is the next in line and he may turn out to be better than both his father and grandfather.
Wagner would drop 20-points in a variety of ways while teammate and fellow junior Cian Medley (pictured) would lead the team with 21-points. Stanford 2023 commit Kanaan Carlyle Kanaan Carlyle 6'2" | PG Overtime Elite | 2023 State #16 Nation GA (Milton, GA) would lead all scorers with 28-points.
Cian Medley Cian Medley 6'0" | PG Camden | 2023 State NJ (Camden, NJ)
2023, PG, 6-foot, 155 pounds
Joel’s Take: This quick-on-quick point guard was a blur in transition in his game against Milton. His burst off the dribble is tremendous and he gets to the rim quickly with an ability to finish with either hand. He also pushes the ball in transition and will deliver the timely pass. He’s undersized, but the speed and ability to convert baskets at all three levels will make his attractive to the D1 level.
Aaron Bradshaw Aaron Bradshaw 7'0" | PF Camden | 2023 State #10 Nation NJ (Camden, NJ)
2023, C, 7-foot, 220 pounds
Joel’s Take: It could be argued the best long-term prospect in the game is Bradshaw. Yes, DJ Wagner is a phenominal talent and very skilled, but Bradshaw is 7-foot with a 3-point touch. He needs to get stronger—which will come in time—and his hands need to get better (loses possessions), but his talent is immense. He can face-up his defender for the drive, knock in the jump shot and he is active in the paint (good instincts ). Defensively, he can protect the rim and hedge out on screens, which shows his good feet. He should be one of the fastest rising prospects in the country in due time. hoot 3s, strengthen hands, rim protector, hedges screens, good feet,
Seth Fitzgerald Seth Fitzgerald 6'3" | SG Milton | 2023 State GA (Milton, GA)
2023, F, 6-foot-3, 180 pounds
Joel’s Take: Fitzgerald will not fill out the boxscore consitently, but he will fill out the stat sheet. His impact is noticed in a variety of ways. Every quality team needs a player like Fitzgerald. He rebounds well for his size, has a nose for the ball at both ends, and he is a gifted passer. He is one of those players that makes the game easier for his teammates. The quintessential glue-type.
Cornelius Robinson Cornelius Robinson 6'6" | SF Camden | 2023 State #253 Nation NJ (Camden, NJ)
2023, F, 6-foot-5, 210 pounds
Joel’s Take: Robinson’s best basketball is definitely in the future. He has that long and lanky frame that will fill out with maturity and he is gifted athlete. The rangy lefty can slash to the basket or knock in the jump shot. It’s tough getting buckets when you have Wagner and Medley in the back court, but his time will come. He needs to work on his ball skills against pressure (stay low) and expand his offensive package (triple threat game), but he has talent.
