STANDOUTS
(alphabetically arranged)
Brady Jordan Brady Jordan 6'1" | PG Clark/Willow Lake | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-1 G| Clark/Willow Lake
He had a nice start to the game and he put up quality points in the 1st quarter. I liked Brady’s cutting and his quickness. He is a sneaky finisher in the paint. Jordan is patient with the ball and he doesn’t rush/force. I liked Jordan’s clever steal on an inbounds play that led to a basket for Brady.
Cael Lundin Cael Lundin 6'3" | SG Tea Area | 2022 State SD (2022) |6-3 SG| Tea Area
He was on fire! Lundin put up a wildly impressive 41 points and he only scored 2 points in the fourth quarter! Lundin got off to an early start by attacking close-outs and getting to the rim. Lundin showed a sweet spin-move and many other skilled moves. His hesitation move and change of speeds were noteworthy. Lundin kept defenders off-balance the entire game. His pull-up jumper is beautiful and Cael’s shot was spot-on in this game. He also showed his strength with an AND1 finish. Besides being lethal scoring the ball, Lundin did a nice job of rebounding. He grabbed multiple O-boards and Cael is great at high-pointing the rebound. He has elite fundamentals and Lundin will take what the defense gives him. Cael had a marvelous game on Saturday!
Easton Kempf Easton Kempf 6'5" | PF Elk Point/Jefferson | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-5 PF| Elk Point/Jefferson
This big man dropped 21 points in the Huskie victory. Easton is a physical player that does most of his scoring around the basket. He creates space around the basket with his size and strength. Kempf had a very nice fake handoff and drive to the basket for a finish. He scored multiple other times with dribble drives. Easton also hit 15-foot jumpers. He was tough on the O-boards with multiple put-backs. I love the way he draws contact and finishes for AND1’s. Easton can do more than just score and rebound. He showed off his handles when helping the Huskies break the press.
Easton Neuendorf Easton Neuendorf 5'11" | PG Hamlin | 2025 State SD (2025) |5-10 PG| Hamlin
He is a youngster but he plays mature. Easton is very skilled with his handles and passing. He is a smooth point guard and Neuendorf is a quick athlete. For such a young PG, I was very impressed with Easton’s aggressive rebounding. On defense, Neuendorf is a pesky defender. I like the way he pushes the tempo in transition. Easton stood out with his skills and excellent hustle.
Jacob Vandeweerd Jacob Vandeweerd 6'8" | PF Canton | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-8 C| Canton
He is a big, strong, large, and powerful player. Jacob moves well for a kid with his size. He had a nice cut and finish on a BLOB. Jacob was excellent at grabbing offensive rebounds. He showed some good passing ability with a dime to Anderson. I like the way the big man seals and pins defenders. He is excellent at using his size and strength to his advantage. Jacob showed a soft shooting touch and a bright future in hoops.
Jacob Pereboom (2022) |5-11 G| Webster Area
He was very impressive on the offensive end. This lefty put on a shooting display from 3-point land. Jacob showed extended shooting range with deep 3-bombs. He was drilling triples off the dribble and in catch-n-shoot situations. Pereboom showed great footwork. Jacob is well built and he has a great first step. When attacking the basket, Pereboom kicked the ball out to shooters. He also finished at the basket around the big C-Hawk players. Pereboom has a great hesitation move and is a crafty scorer.
Matt Anderson Matt Anderson 6'6" | SF Canton | 2024 State SD (2024) |6-5 G/F| Canton
He is a great athlete, rebounder, and defender. Anderson looked excellent when cutting and finishing. He showed some great passes, especially to VandeWeerd. Anderson has no problem scoring in traffic. He knocked down a 1-handed 12-foot runner that looked smooth. On defense, Matt is a disruptive player on the top of the C-Hawks zone press. Anderson can score from all levels and guard multiple positions on defense.
Tyson Stevenson Tyson Stevenson 6'2" | SG Hamlin | 2024 State SD (2024) |6-2 SG| Hamlin
He scored 22 points and had a very nice showing in the first game of the day. Tyson is ultra-quick and an overall nice athlete. He had a great cut-and-finish off a SLOB. Tyson looks to be a crafty finisher at the iron. I like the looks of his jumper from beyond the arc. Tyson showed the ability to cash in from 3-point land. When attacking the rim, Stevenson had a sweet finish vs. a double-team at the rim. Later on, he showed a great curl-cut and score. I was also impressed with his AND1 finish and concentration. Stevenson and Neuendorf make up a young and dynamic backcourt for the Chargers.
