Record crowds came over to the JQH Arena to see local teams Nixa, Parkview and Springfield Catholic, along with New Madrid Central from the boot heel, compete against some of the top high school programs in the nation.
Here is the Prep Hoops Missouri All-Tournament Team for teams in the state.
Jadis Jones Jadis Jones 6'5" | SF New Madrid Central | 2024 State #248 Nation MO (New Madrid Central): The athletic 6’5″ 2024 forward averaged 14 points and 12 rebounds in the tournament. He had a huge game against Parkview in the consolation semifinals, where he had 17 points and 19 rebounds. He also handles the ball and facilitates in addition to his excellent work in the paint.
Colin Ruffin Colin Ruffin 6'3" | PG Nixa | 2022 State MO (Nixa): The 6’3″ 2022 point guard averaged 15 points, seven rebounds and two assists a game to lead the Eagles to a pair of victories and a fifth-place finish. In the opening game, he had 21 points and seven assists in a near-upset of Milton (GA).
Zach Howell Zach Howell 6'4" | SG Springfield Catholic | 2022 State MO (Catholic): The 6’5″ 2022 wing averaged 24 points a game and was one of the top scorers in the tournament. He scored a tournament-high 30 points in Catholic’s near-upset of eventual champion Paul VI in the first round. He also had 26 points in the seventh-place game against New Madrid Central.
Elijah Whatley (Parkview): The 6’2″ 2022 guard averaged 10 points and five rebounds to lead the Vikings over the weekend. His big game came in the consolation semifinals against New Madrid Central, where he had 19 points, four rebounds and three steals. His 3-pointer at the buzzer sent the game into overtime and Parkview went on to win 47-44.
Shane Glass (Parkview): The 6’4″ 2022 forward enjoyed a solid tournament as he averaged eight points and seven rebounds while shooting nearly 60 percent from the field.
Kael Combs Kael Combs 6'4" | SG Nixa | 2023 State MO (Nixa): The 6’4″ 2023 guard averaged 10 points, four rebounds and three assists to help the Eagles to a pair of victories in the tournament. He had 12 points, five rebounds and two assists in a near-upset of Milton (GA) in the first round.
Marcelous Phillips Marcelous Phillips 6'5" | PF New Madrid | 2022 State MO (New Madrid Central): The 6’5″ 2022 forward had a solid tournament for the Eagles as he averaged eight points and six rebounds in the tournament. He closed out the tournament with an 11-point, 11-rebound performance in a victory over Catholic in the seventh-place game.
Liam O’Reilly (Springfield Catholic): The 6’2″ 2022 guard averaged 10 points, four rebounds and seven assists in the tournament. In the first round, he had a near triple-double with 14 points, eight rebounds and eight assists against eventual tournament champion Paul VI.
