Now that the calendar has turned to January of 2022 it is time to start highlighting the players that are still on the board. There are plenty of prospects for coaches at all levels still searching for a home here in the Hoosier state. Over the course of the coming weeks we will continue to highlight more and more prospects for your programs to keep an eye on. For now, here are five uncommitted guards in the Indiana Class of 2022.
Reggie Bass Reggie Bass 6'4" | SG Arsenal Tech | 2022 State #175 Nation IN (Arsenal Tech H.S. 2022)
Bass is the most talented player remaining on the board in Indiana’s Class of 2022. After decommitting from Illinois in August, the 6’4″ guard has earned offers from Hofstra and Southern Indiana. This season he has led Arsenal Tech to a 10-2 record while averaging a team-leading 19.3 points to go along with 5.4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3.5 steals per game. Bass is a very good shooter with deep range and possesses some of the best court vision in the state. He is very good in transition. This could be an excellent pickup in 2022 for a DI program still looking for a playmaker.
Travis Grayson Travis Grayson 5'10" | PG Chesterton | 2022 State IN (Chesterton H.S. 2022)
What this point guard may lack in size, he makes up for in toughness and playmaking. Recently going over the 1000 point milestone, Grayson is the primary reason Chesterton is off to a 10-0 start to their season. He is very quick with the ball in his hands, excellent in the open floor, and can get to the basket whenever he wants. Very good finisher despite his 5’10″ frame. Grayson is a tough point guard and a proven winner. If that is the type of guy you want leading your backcourt then you need to recruit this prospect. Currently holds a handful of NAIA offers.
Ashton Johnson Ashton Johnson 6'2" | PG Fort Wayne South | 2022 State IN (Fort Wayne South H.S. 2022)
This 6’2″ guard is one of the best under-the-radar prospects remaining in the state, and definitely in the Fort Wayne area. Johnson is a strong, physical lead guard with excellent all-around playmaking ability. He has the necessary tools to get to the basket and finish, create his own shot off of the dribble on the perimeter, or find an open teammate while attacking. Johnson is averaging 18.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. Very good small college prospect for anyone needing help in the backcourt.
Aidan Lambert Aidan Lambert 6'3" | SG Snider | 2022 State IN (Fort Wayne Snider H.S. 2022)
If you are looking for an explosive scoring guard, look no further than Snider’s Aidan Lambert Aidan Lambert 6'3" | SG Snider | 2022 State IN . The 6’2″ guard is averaging an incredible 26.6 points per game this season. Lambert is a great outside shooter with a lot of game off of the dribble to create his own looks. He is an explosive leaper with the ability to finish above the rim. Absolutely one of the most under recruited prospects in this class. Division II/NAIA programs need to be taking a long, hard look at this guy.
Jordan Turner Jordan Turner 6'3" | PG Cardinal Ritter | 2022 State IN (Cardinal Ritter H.S. 2022)
Turner is a 6’3″ athletic guard that is really good with the ball in his hands. He is one of the best finishers at the rim for a guard in the state with an impressive 57% field goal percentage. His size and athleticism allow him to get up and finish over and through defenders on the way to the basket. Turner is also a great rebounder from the guard spot. He is averaging 18.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Holds an offer from Bethune-Cookman that should be fielding more offers as his senior year wraps up.
