I sat down with him after his team won the Warrior Classic, in which Jerry was the MVP, Here’s what he had to say….
1.What do you do for fun, beside play basketball? “I like video games, I love playing NBA2k and Fortnite”
2. How do you handle the pressure of being the top player in the 2025 class and being in the limelight? “I am use it now, I just want to go out and help our team win”
3. Besides your parents, who have you looked up to in the area? “I like Zeb (Jackson) and Joey (Holifield) I have watched them and how successful they have been”
4. What is the best thing you like about your talented teammates? “They are like brothers to me, we have a good connection, we don’t always agree, but we all want to win”, I also like Coach Armstead, he was one of the reasons I chose to come to Emmanuel Christian“
5. What will you look for in deciding what College you want to play for? “I want good coaching and I really want to play with other good players. I don’t have a favorite yet, because I like all the programs that have offered me and are trying to recruit me”
The interview went well, Jerry is a quiet kid with a burning desire to win. He spoke fondly of his teammates and how they are just like brothers. They don’t agree all the time but they love being around each other and bring out the best in him. He loves his coaches and is enjoying the high school season. His parents have been a driving force in Jerry’s desire of wanting to be the best. He speaks of them with great admiration.
Make sure to see Emmanuel Christian this season, they have a ton of talent with Jerry Easter II leading the way. Right now they sit as one the top teams in the State (Division IV).
