Durral Brooks Durral Brooks 6'2" | PG Grand Rapids Catholic Central | 2024 State MI (2024, PG, Grand Rapids Catholic Central)
WHY?
Because I feel like Brooks deserves more regional and national praise as a prospect. The kid is a flat out winner. How many players can claim they won a state title as a starting freshman point guard? Not many. But Brooks can, and they’re a favorite again this year.
Daquan Coleman Daquan Coleman 6'2" | CG Bendle | 2022 State MI (2022, PG,
WHY?
Because, like me, you probably don’t know how good this young man really is until you see for yourself. Last night he buried a school record 9 three pointers. Coleman is an unselfish 3 level scorer and creator. Trust me, he can go toe to toe with the best in the state.
Joe Francis Joe Francis 6'4" | SG Adrian | 2022 State MI (2022, SG, Adrian)
WHY?
I hate to be redundant in my articles, but the reason that you should see him play is that he’s having a Mr. Basketball type season. Francis is throwing up 30 plus points a game fairly regularly. But even bigger than his staggering offensive numbers is the fact that it’s helping his team win games.
Malik Olafioye Malik Olafioye 6'2" | PG Ecorse | 2023 MI (2023, PG, Ecorse)
WHY?
Because you get to see a future college basketball star at the price of a high school game. Olafioye has that it factor. He’s as explosive as they come on offense, both scoring and creating for his teammates. If you go to see him play, I can guarantee he’ll make a highlight reel play that you’ll remember.
Jayden Savoury (2025, SF, Detroit Renaissance)
WHY?
When I first saw Michigan native Isaiah Jackson play, I felt like I was watching a kid that could play at the next NEXT level. I get that gut feeling watching Savoury play too. That’s why you should see him play. He has length, strength, and athleticism for days. Savoury’s skill set looks incredibly transferable to higher levels of the game.
