Timpview vs. Timpanogos
This rivalry goes way back and with both teams battling in the middle of the RPI Rankings it will be a good one to watch. Tompanogos is lead by 6’11 Bron Roberts Bron Roberts 6'11" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT who has been solid all year. He doesn’t have anyone on the other side that can guard him eye to eye but this game will be a chess match as Head Coach Izzy Ingle plays his former team for the first time. Timpview has been really good with their guard play as James Oldroyd and Truman Burningham Truman Burningham 6'2" | PG Timpview | 2022 State UT have been playing well this season. Although there might be a height advantage at Timpanogos look for the guards to be the difference in this game, especially if Timpanogos sits in that 2-3 zone.
Farmington vs. Layton
Farmington really put up a fight against Davis and so did Layton, now these two teams meet to try and not fall to 0-2 on the season. Layton fell to Clearfield in game one. Layton will need some solid play from guys like Brock Mendoza Brock Mendoza 6'9" | C Layton | 2023 State UT and Mekahi Martin. Farmington will need more production from their role players like Devin Day Devin Day 6'3" | SG Farmington | 2022 State UT . Collin Chandler Collin Chandler 6'5" | CG Farmington | 2022 State #28 Nation UT and Paul Beattie Paul Beattie 6'9" | PF Farmington | 2024 State UT have been consistent and good this season. KJ Miller KJ Miller 6'3" | CG Layton | 2024 State UT and Wilson have also been good. This game could go either way.
Skyline vs. Highland
Skyline has been on fire this season. Kolton Smith Kolton Smith 6'4" | SG Skyline | 2022 State UT has been playing well and he is a great shooter. Yogio Golesis has taken his game to another level. Peter Broadbent Peter Broadbent 6'2" | CG Skyline | 2023 State UT has been consistent as well. Skyline is going to be a lot to handle. Sefa Brown Sefa Brown 6'5" | SF Highland | 2024 State UT will need to have a big game in order for Highland to get things going.
6’4 G Ike Palmer Ike Palmer 6'6" | CG Herriman | 2024 State UT || Herriman High School || 2024 ||
Ike has been a young player that has promise in that talented Class of 2024. He can score the ball from deep and he has some great moves that give him space to the rim and the perimeter.
6’0 G Nash Matheson Nash Matheson 5'11" | PG Brighton | 2024 State UT || Brighton High School || 2024 ||
Nash has got that ultimate green light as he is scoring at will. Currently averaging 25 PPG and he will continue to let it fly. it will be interesting to see how he adjust to region play and if coaches adjust to him as well. Nash has scored more than 20 points in 10 of 12 games. With only 4 wins, Brighton can use all the scoring they can get.
5’11 G Cooper Lewis Cooper Lewis 6'1" | PG Lehi | 2024 State UT || Lehi High School || 2024 ||
Cooper has really matured over the years and this year with varsity time he is scoring the ball really well. What is opening up the rest of his game is his long ball shooting ability. Cooper is one of the best shooter in that class of 2024 and he is proving it by scoring 17 PPG. He is good for 3 to 4 three-pointers a game. Really like the way he can shoot without dipping the ball and he has a quick release.
