Carson McDonald Carson McDonald 6'8" | PF Vista PEAK Prep | 2024 NLG , 6’8 PF: George Washington
Standing at 6’8 Carson McDonald Carson McDonald 6'8" | PF Vista PEAK Prep | 2024 NLG has some big-time potential considering how well he moves for that size. Carson is a very lengthy big man who is learning to play more assertively inside the paint, and he has looked much improved from this summer to the high school season. As Carson has gotten more comfortable playing down low we have seen some glimpses of great rim protection. On the offensive end, he has shown flashes of making tough contested shots on opposing big men, even being able to double-clutch and readjust for the best angle. Carson is ranked at number 8 due to his high potential and how quickly we have seen improvement, as it looks like he still has a lot of room to grow and is willing to keep growing his game.
Tommy Wight Tommy Wight 6'8" | SF ThunderRidge | 2024 State CO , 6’6 PF: ThunderRidge
Tommy Wight Tommy Wight 6'8" | SF ThunderRidge | 2024 State CO is a player who we have gotten the privilege to see much on the varsity court due to the fact he is playing with the super-stacked 5A defending champions ThunderRidge. While we have not seen a ton of minutes out of Tommy the potential is obvious. From three-point land, Tommy is a very good shooter who naturally moves without the ball in his hand to find open three-point opportunities on the floor. Tommy is more than just a shooter though, he has many skills that may transition his game to being a combo-forward player as he moves like a wing but can battle down low. We are very excited to get to see more of Tommy play in the future!
Johnnie Reed Johnnie Reed 6'6" | SF Windsor | 2024 State CO , 6’6 PF: Windsor
Johnnie Reed Johnnie Reed 6'6" | SF Windsor | 2024 State CO is one of those players who coaches love to have on their team, a true hustler. Johnnie has made a name for himself as being one of the top rebounders in his class as he is disciplined in finding a body to box out and a great glass cleaner. With his back to the basket, Johnnie has a solid back-to-the-basket game where he can create jump-hook shots or layups for himself. On the defensive end of the floor, Johnnie brings the same energy as he does to the boards and can guard positions 3-5 very well.
Brady Greene Brady Greene 6'7" | PF Horizon | 2024 State CO , 6’6 PF: Riverdale Ridge
Brady Greene Brady Greene 6'7" | PF Horizon | 2024 State CO is a player who brings great energy every time he touches the floor. Brady may make some mistakes, as he is still learning the game (like every high school player) but you can bet that the next possession he will hustle to make up for it, whether that’s getting a good box out, diving for a loose ball, sprinting back on defense… he is totally bought in on helping the team any way he can. As a rim protector Brady stands out, he has great length and seems to be improving his shot-blocking timing day by day. In pick and roll situations Brady has looked great, he sets solid screens with his broad frame, opens up wide on the roll, and is a solid finisher around the rim.
