Last week, we began our ranking update with an updated look at the 2024 class. You can check out the complete 2024 rankings RIGHT HERE. In this post, we take a look at three prospects in particular that are all on the same team. Union has a group of 2024 prospects that all have high ceilings and are all starting to shine in one way or another. And what’s good news for Union fans is each brings a different element to the game and aren’t occupying the same space on the floor. In addition to 2023 star Trent Pierce Trent Pierce 6'6" | SF Union | 2023 State #73 Nation OK , this “Big Three” give Union a very talented team that is capable of making a run in March.
Cedric Dixon Cedric Dixon 6'3" | SG Grind Prep | 2024 State #323 Nation OK – Guard (Ranked #14)
Our first prospect from Union is guard Cedric Dixon Cedric Dixon 6'3" | SG Grind Prep | 2024 State #323 Nation OK , who came in at #14 in the recent ranking update. While the other two prospects are both in the top ten, Dixon narrowly missed out but has a chance to join them over the next two seasons. Right now, Dixon has been more of a role player for the Redhawks as Pierce, Mason and Fuller have been leading the way. However, when Dixon starts getting hot from beyond the arc, there aren’t too many teams that can stop him from going on a scoring run by himself. With a quick release and a shot that is pure, Dixon certainly has a bright future over the next two seasons. He’s certainly Union’s best threat from beyond the arc this season and we’ve seen him light it up on a few occasions. Up next for him is taking that next step as a player and becoming Union’s top shooter night in and night out.
Chris Mason Chris Mason 6'6" | PF Victory Christian | 2024 State OK – Forward (Ranked #3)
The highest rated Union prospect is forward Chris Mason Chris Mason 6'6" | PF Victory Christian | 2024 State OK , who came in at #3 in our recent update. Between Mason and Edmond North’s Dylan Warlick Dylan Warlick 6'6" | SF Edmond North | 2024 State #226 Nation OK , there isn’t much separating the two as they battle for the #2 and #3 spot behind Bartlesville superstar David Castillo David Castillo 6'1" | PG Sunrise Christian Academy (KS) | 2024 #80 Nation KS . Mason is a forward that has been arguably Union’s most consistent player this season. You can count on Mason to bring it every single time out and he can do it in a variety of ways. Whether it’s in the paint, posting up or getting second chance buckets off of offensive rebounds or even stepping outside and knocking down a jumper, Mason has a strong skillset on the offensive side of the floor. Mason also brings plenty of energy to the Redhawks and is one of the verbal leaders on the floor. This big man has the chance to remain a top five prospect throughout his high school career.
Dalen Fuller Dalen Fuller 6'4" | CG Union | 2024 State OK – Guard (Ranked #9)
Our final member of Union’s “Big Three” is perhaps my favorite player I’ve seen in person this year and that’s guard Dalen Fuller Dalen Fuller 6'4" | CG Union | 2024 State OK , who was ranked #9 overall in our recent ranking update. Fuller is the most athletic guard that I’ve seen and it’s quite a show when he’s on his game. The lefty can absolutely leap out of the gym and some of the stuff he’s able to do in transition is incredibly impressive. However, he is a sophomore and you can tell that there are some things that he can improve on to become not only a better player, but a better prospect, with the chance to jump up and become a borderline top five prospect. But when Fuller is at his best, he’s one of Union’s best on-ball defenders, a good shooter from beyond the arc and an engine that can’t be stopped when he gets out and starts running. Out of the three prospects on this list, Fuller has the highest ceiling in terms of what he could be if everything starts becoming more consistent night in and night out.
