Earlier this week, we updated the 2023 rankings across Oklahoma. If you missed them, you can check them out RIGHT HERE. The 2023 class already shows a good amount of depth to go along with some special talent at the top. We already broke down the top five prospects and those five might end up having a stranglehold on those spots between now and the ends of their high school career. But in this post, we take a look at five more prospects that have not only jumped up in the recent ranking but have a chance to continue that progress into the offseason and beyond.
Connor Dow Connor Dow 6'6" | SF Broken Arrow | 2023 State #252 Nation OK – Forward – Broken Arrow
One prospect that jumped up the rankings in a big way was Broken Arrow forward Connor Dow Connor Dow 6'6" | SF Broken Arrow | 2023 State #252 Nation OK . The junior forward landed just outside the top five and will be battling over the next 12 months to try to break his way into that group of five. Coming into this season, Broken Arrow was going to be in good hands with 2022 guard Anthony Allen Anthony Allen 6'5" | SF Broken Arrow | 2022 State OK returning and leading the way for the Tigers. But talking with head coach Beau Wallace back in October, it was clear that the Tigers were expecting Dow to have this kind of season and become that breakout star for a Broken Arrow team that has state tournament aspirations. Standing 6’6, Dow is more of a shooter and has done the majority of his damage from beyond the arc and in the mid-range game. However, he has shown the ability to run the floor and finish inside while playing alongside the athletic Allen. Dow is certainly a name to watch as a top ten prospect.
Jarreth Ingram Jarreth Ingram 6'4" | SF Noah | 2023 State OK – Forward – Memorial
Memorial is incredibly fun to watch this season and in my opinion, the Chargers and Del City are the top two teams in the state, regardless of class. We already saw them match-up once and we might see it again in March. But when it comes to forward Jarreth Ingram Jarreth Ingram 6'4" | SF Noah | 2023 State OK , we can’t wait to see what the Chargers look like next season. Ingram has been an athletic role player for the Chargers, which shows you just how good Memorial is this season because Ingram doesn’t look like a role player. He looks like a prospect who will surprise you with his athleticism if you’re not prepared and he can shoot the ball as well. We like the way the Chargers have used Ingram this season but it’s clear that he’s going to be a massive star for them next year. The Chargers are once again primed for state tourney success.
Jayden Cincotta Jayden Cincotta 6'1" | SG Edmond Santa Fe | 2023 State OK – Guard – Edmond Santa Fe
This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Edmond Santa Fe with a young roster and more attention in Edmond going towards Memorial and North. That hasn’t been the case because of the play from guard Jayden Cincotta Jayden Cincotta 6'1" | SG Edmond Santa Fe | 2023 State OK . He’s helped lead the Wolves to several big wins and showcased his abilities as a shooter. We also like his size as he can drive to the basket and be physical at the rim and not just be turned away. Edmond Santa Fe is going to be an incredibly interesting team to watch down the stretch of the regular season. Every season, several west side teams are “sent east” for regional and area playoffs. This year, PC West and Santa Fe are the notable teams. The Wolves could end up crashing the party and steal one of the state tournament spots from an east side team and Cincotta is a big reason behind that.
Percy Green Percy Green 6'4" | SF Del City | 2023 State OK – Guard – Del City
Earlier in the season when Del City struggled out of the gate, the Eagles were looking for more consistency from their guards. We wrote plenty about the Eagles and their breakout performance at the Tournament Of Champions but that’s really when the Eagles solidified themselves as a major threat in Class 5A. And it was because of the play they got from their guards, specifically Percy Green Percy Green 6'4" | SF Del City | 2023 State OK . While fellow 2023 guard and OSU football commit Jaedon Foreman Jaedon Foreman 6'3" | SF Del City | 2023 State OK controlled the point, it was Green that turned into Del City’s top shooter to go along with Terry McMorris Terry McMorris 6'5" | SF Douglass | 2023 State OK ‘ athleticism. Green is a prospect that is having a breakout season in our opinion and is just as important as some of the more well-known names on this Del City team. If the Eagles make another run at the gold ball, expect Green to be a key part.
Zander Baker Zander Baker 5'10" | PG Norman | 2023 State OK – Guard – Putnam City North
Putnam City North is no stranger to having athletic point guards that might be looked at as undersized but can absolutely fill it up on any given night. The Panthers have another one with point guard Zander Baker Zander Baker 5'10" | PG Norman | 2023 State OK , who is having a fantastic junior season and is a big reason why the Panthers are once again a threat to make it back to the state tournament and contend for a gold ball. Baker has control of this offense and has been a scorer first but also has the ability to get others around him involved. And when we talk about being a scorer first, Baker can absolutely fill it up from beyond the arc. The PC North standout has some incredible range from the outside but at the same time he also has the ability to drive and get separation to allow the space needed to get off a shot. Baker is certainly a point guard we’re going to keep an eye on this offseason.
