Lee County Junior Guard Malachi Mclean: Easily put together the best shooting performance in the first round. As soon as the game began he caught fire, scoring twenty-three points in the first half to help his team build a nice lead. He’s continued to progress with his development and took over the PG duties at times for his team. Scoring a game high of forty points on the night and helping his team to advance to the next round, he is continuing to make his case as a prospect.
Overhills HS Senior Guard Jamori McDougald Jamori McDougald 6'1" | SG Trinity Christian | 2022 State NC : Coming into this event undefeated, his squad was viewed as the favorite but suffered a loss in the first round. Despite the team coming up short, McDougald shot the ball well and led his team in scoring with a game high of twenty-four points. He has deep shooting range on his shot and displayed some good speed and acceleration when pushing the tempo for his team.
Apex HS Freshman Guard Zaelyn White: This young man flat out has a chance to be special and will be one to keep a close eye on over the next four years. He stepped up big time for his team in the second half, helping them to comeback from a twenty point deficit by coming up with forced turnovers and scoring the ball with efficiency. Out of his eighteen points, he scored sixteen of his points in the second half by using his speed, athleticism and slashing ability.
Union Pines Junior Guard Jack Adair: The leader for his team on both ends of the court, he’s one of those players that can make an impact without scoring. As the game went on, he came up with some timely plays that helped his team secure the win.
East Chapel Hill Sophomore Guard Isaiah Styron: One of the best passers that we saw throughout the day, he looked to get teammates involved and converted some difficult passes that led to easy buckets. It’s refreshing to see a young player that’s more than willing to turn down his own offense to get his teammates going.
