Continue ReadingLexington Catholic is hosting their annual post-Christmas tournament this week and it has one of the more loaded fields I can remember as several of the top 25 teams in the state are in the event. Here’s a look at the top performers from Sunday’s opening round of games.
Jackson Twombly Jackson Twombly 6'7" | PF Woodford County | 2022 State KY , Woodford County – The 6’7 Senior broke out with a big second half to carry the Jackets over Henry Clay in the opening game of the tournament. Jackson had 22 total points with 19 coming in the second half. He finished with a team high 8 rebounds also.
Jack Gohmann Jack Gohmann 6'3" | SG Lexington Catholic | 2022 State KY , Lexington Catholic – Another Senior who shined yesterday, Gohmann is hitting his groove for the Knights as we turn the calendar to 2022. Jack was the high scorer for the game with 19 points on 7/13 shooting. Also a quarterback on the football field, The 6’3 Gohmann is a player who should be on the radar for NAIA, D2 and D3 schools.
Ryan Davidson Ryan Davidson 6'4" | SF North Laurel | 2023 State KY , North Laurel – The Junior doesn’t get as many headlines as his famous cousin but Ryan is a good player who should be on recruiting radars for scholarship level schools. On Sunday, the 6’4 wing had team highs with 22 points and 10 rebounds. He also kicked in 3 assists in the win over Trinity.
Will Hardin Will Hardin 6'5" | PF Madison Central | 2022 State KY , Madison Central – One of my favorite Seniors in the 11th region, Hardin is probably the most valuable member of the Indian roster and does all the things they need from him to get wins. The 6’5 stretch 5 went for team highs with 30 points and 14 rebounds. He continued his hot start to the season by going 4/4 from 3 in their big win.
Kennedy Hayden Kennedy Hayden 6'3" | CG Ballard | 2022 State KY , Ballard – “Keno” had a big game in a running clock win over Great Crossing. The 6’4 guard benefited from being able to run out on offense when shots went up as the Bruins were dominant in their rebounding. Hayden had a team high 23 points and made it look easy in the process.
