Andrew Young Andrew Young 6'8" | SF Marquette | 2022 State MO 6’8″ Marquette: The Missouri S&T recruit scored a game-high 22 points in the Mustangs victory over Duchesne in the semifinals. He dominated the smaller Pioneers in the low post with his good footwork and variety of moves in the post. He was very patient and he kept the ball up and away from defenders. He is also an excellent passer who can step out and make a perimeter shot. He has really developed into a nice all-around combo forward.
Nick Keene Nick Keene 6'7" | PF For Zumwalt South | 2022 State MO 6’7″ Fort Zumwalt South: The 2022 forward scored nine points in the Bulldogs victory over Fort Zumwalt West in the semifinals. He has a solid low post game with a very effective turnaround jumper in the lane. He’s physically strong and he also sets solid screens. He also hit a big 3-pointer in the fourth quarter to give his team the lead to stay down the stretch.
Jay Higgins 6’5″ Fort Zumwalt South: A 2022 forward who scored 11 points in the Bulldogs victory over Fort Zumwalt West in the semifinals. He is a very solid player who made several key plays during his team’s second-half comeback. He did a good job finishing around the basket and rebounding. He’s mobile and he was constantly in the right position.
Joseph Hamill 6’2″ Fort Zumwalt West: An undersized forward who did an excellent job inside against a bigger Zumwalt South team. He had slick moves in the post and made good use of head and shoulder fakes inside to produce buckets inside. He also had a pair of good takes from the high post to score. He finished the game with 12 points. I was very impressed with how under control was in every movement he made on the court.
DJ Mays 6’4″ Marquette: A long and athletic 2022 forward who scored 10 points in the Mustangs victory over Duchesne in the semifinals. He used his length to block a couple of shots, including a 3-pointer. He made a pair of 3-pointers of his own while also scoring a nice drive to the basket.
