Jemez Herd Jemez Herd 6'7" | SF Olympic | 2022 State NC | 6’7 Forward/Wing | Olympic
Herd is set to play stat-sheet stuffer for Olympic High after a productive summer with Rod Howard Select. He put up 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks in their season-opening victory against Mallard Creek. He’s a versatile prospect that can fly around the floor and make plays above the rim on both ends of the floor. He’ll be worth a look from LM DIs and HM DIIs with an offer already from Emory & Henry.
Damien Robinson Damien Robinson 6'5" | C Over Hills | 2022 State NC | 6’5 Forward/Center | Overhills
Robinson is a prospect that continues to develop into a physical monster in the paint at Overhills High. He’s just 6-foot-5 but plays a lot bigger than that with his frame at 230 pounds. He’s been a double-double machine as his squad is off to a 5-0 start, posting 14.0 ppg, 10.4 rpg and 1.8 bpg. He stays true to his game and makes an impact around the rim. 22 of his 52 rebounds have come on the offensive end this season. DIII and JUCO schools should give him a look.
Mikhail Pocknett Mikhail Pocknett 6'6" | PF New Hanover | 2022 State NC | 6’6 Forward | New Hanover
Pocknett is one of the more underappreciated forwards in the 2022 class despite his ability to wreak havoc in the paint on both ends. He’s a mobile 6-foot-6 forward prospect that can operate inside and out, defend the perimeter and rebound in bunches. He’s posted 10.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg and 3.5 spg through their first two victories of the season. DII schools would be wise to get a look at him. They’ve got Northside-Jacksonville on Tuesday night on the road then face North Brunswick at home on Friday.
Josh Laney Josh Laney 6'1" | CG Enloe | 2022 State NC | 6’1 Guard | Enloe
Laney is a late-blooming guard to know in North Carolina’s 2022 class. He’s a crafty combo guard that puts constant pressure on the defense with his ability to handle the ball and get to his spots on the floor. He’s a big reason Enloe is off to a 5-0 start to the 2021-22 campaign. He also likes to get after it on the defensive end and has quite the competitive edge. They’ll face an unbeaten Wakefield on the road on Tuesday night then travel to Hillside on Thursday night this week. He’s a prospect for DIIs, DIIIs and JUCOs to get eyes on.
Alex Reece Alex Reece 5'11" | SG Ledford | 2022 State NC | 5’10 Shooting Guard | Ledford
Reece is a big reason Ledford is off to a 2-0 start to the 2021-22 season. He’s listed a 5-foot-10 but plays with a ton of strength at the shooting guard role. He does a solid job of getting to his spots in the paint, mid-range and perimeter area while playing an unselfish brand of basketball. He’s a name DIIs and DIIIs should track closely this season. They’ll face Thomasville on the road on Tuesday night then Randleman on Wednesday on the road.
Cooper Hawk Cooper Hawk 6'8" | C First Flight | 2022 State NC | 6’6 Forward | First Flight
Hawk is a late-emerger that’s had a strong opening two games to his senior season. The 6-foot-6 forward is averaging 12.5 ppg, 14.5 rpg and 1.5 bpg following a 14-point, 18-rebound, 1-block effort in their victory this past Friday over Riverside-Martin. 11 of his rebounds came on the offensive end. He’s an active presence in the paint on both ends of the floor worth a look from DIII and JUCOs. They’ll face Catholic High on Tuesday night then Henderson Collegiate on Friday and Kinston on Saturday night.
