Andrew Crawford Andrew Crawford 6'6" | CG ThunderRidge | 2024 State #88 Nation CO has solidified himself as the top prospect in the class of 2024 in Colorado with his play so far this season. Even since this summer, Andrew has made big strides to improve his game. When Andrew takes the ball up the floor as the primary ball-handler he has looked great. Standing at 6’4, he has great height for a guard and is able to see over smaller defenders to find open teammates. Andrew had a few passes this last week where I did not even think he saw the open cutter but he was able to snap the ball over to them with impressive no-look passes. But he is more than just a good passer, as he was able to effectively score the ball from inside and out. Andrew and the defending state champs have been a ton of fun to watch so far this year.
Cole Scherer Cole Scherer 6'2" | PG Valor Christian | 2025 State CO – Valor Christian
Cole Scherer Cole Scherer 6'2" | PG Valor Christian | 2025 State CO was the most impressive freshman at the tournament. Cole ran the point guard spot for his team and looked like one of their best players. Cole has a high IQ which allows him to be one of the most confident players on the court. He is a true point guard who has great vision and consistently found open teammates. While Cole’s passing looked great so did his ability to score, when in rhythm his jump shot is money. Also on the defensive end, he has good foot speed and active hands. Cole will definitely be a problem for opposing teams for many years to come.
Torian Gassaway- Smoky Hill
Torian Gassaway has impressed due to his ability to be a great role player for Smoky Hill. It is not often you see a young guy who is willing to take a role so willingly and it has paid off for Torian. Torian is an unselfish guard who has a nice spot-up jumper and some sneaky athleticism. He seems to find himself in good spots on the floor either for an open three or cutting to finish at the rim. While his offensive performance was impressive he really stood out on the defensive end. Torian was often put on opposing teams’ top guards and he did a great job staying in front of them and slowing down some really good scorers.
Asher Weiner Asher Weiner 6'5" | SF Valor Christian | 2024 CO – Valor Christian
Asher Weiner Asher Weiner 6'5" | SF Valor Christian | 2024 CO was one of the more impressive athletes at the tournament. For a wing Asher has ideal size, he stands at 6’4 and has a muscular build. Asher is very impressive as he does not try to do too much, many guys get caught up in being flashy. While Asher makes some entertaining plays he never tries to be extra, which makes him an efficient player. Asher is a good scoring threat as he shot the ball well from 3-point land and used his athleticism and long strides to get to the rim.
Lorenzo Contreras- Smoky Hill
Lorenzo Contreras has been one of the most impressive freshmen in the state so far this year and kept that going during the tournament. Lorenzo is a small guard but is super skilled. He shot well from everywhere on the floor this past week. He even had some tough finishes amongst much taller players. Lorenzo has also impressed with the great energy he brings for his team, always hyping up his teammates and hustling whenever he is on the floor.
