Colby Springs Colby Springs 6'5" | PF Lewisville | 2024 TX 2024 6’5 Lewisville High School
Colby truly displayed a DeMarcus Cousins/ Nikola Jokic type game. His team ran their entire offense through him, and he made the right reads and passes to set up teammates and punished defenders in the post with his strength. He is built like a linebacker, and you could tell kids were having second thoughts about rotating into the paint to get in front of him. He got into the paint with ease any time he wanted to. I was impressed with his ability to move and his overall aggressiveness on both ends of the floor. He stayed engaged and wanted to put his foot on the other teams throat every time he stepped on the floor. I would like to see him continue to work on his ability to hit shots off the dribble and work on incorporating and adding more post moves to his bag.
Trey Jackson Trey Jackson 6'6" | PF South Oak Cliff | 2024 TX 2024 6’5 South Oak Cliff Ptech
Trey is an explosive athlete with all the tools to translate to the next level. He possess great end-to-end speed and athleticism. His leaping ability strikes fear into the hearts of defenders. He plays with high energy and has a real motor. He was not afraid to go after chase-down blocks and protected the rim like an experienced center. I am excited to see how he develops over the next few years. He has all the tools to translate to the next level if he continues to work hard and develop his overall game. As the game is getting quicker, I would like to see him work on his ability to put the ball on the floor and get to his shots in the midrange.
Jack Lawson Jack Lawson 6'5" | SG Southlake Carroll | 2024 State TX 2024 6’5 Southlake Carol High School
Jack is a highly skilled forward who looks like he has the potential to become a stretch four if he continues to grow or become a leaner more wing type player. He is a very aggressive player on both ends of the floor who fights for every rebound. In the post, he is patient and methodical with his fakes, he knows how to create space for himself even against other bigs. I was the most impressed with his fluidity and ability to put the ball on the floor. He showed range and an ability to knock down open shots when given time to set his feet. You can also tell he has had good coaching; he is great at finding weak spots in the defense and knowing when to cut to give his teammates another option.
Rowdy Robinson Rowdy Robinson 6'4" | CG Pilot Point | 2024 TX 2024 6’4 Pilot Point High School
Rowdy is a highly skilled stretch forward with an ability to punish defenders from all three levels of the floor. He has a good set shot and can even get to his shot off the bounce in the midrange. On the defensive end of the floor, he uses his great length to affect his opponent’s shot at the rim. There was a play where he got beat off the dribble but recovered well and sent his shot out of bounds. I would like to see him get more aggressive, especially when he is attacking downhill. He has all the tools to become a dynamic weapon at the next level.
