Barr-Reeve Beats Bloomington South Second Year In A Row
In the second year in a row, and this time on South’s home turf, 1A Barre-Reeve was able to knock off the 4A Panthers 42-39. The main factor in Barr-Reeve’s big win was that 2022 stud SF Hagen Knepp Hagen Knepp 6'4" | SF Barr-Reeve | 2022 State IN , who is ranked #49 in our Class 2022 Rankings, dropped a game high 24 points. This without question was the biggest win this year so far from the Vikings who are now 4-1 and still the #1 team in Class 1A. As far as Bloomington South, who are currently #6 in Class 4A, they drop to 3-1. Barr-Reeve will play Central Noble at the Southport Tip-Off this Saturday while Bloomington South travel to Southport to play the Cardinals this Friday.
Higgs Goes Off
In an absolutely dominant win over a city rival, Evansville Reitz was able to destroy Evansville North 67-36. The story of the night, however, was Reitz’s Isaac Higgs Isaac Higgs 6'2" | PG Evansville Reitz | 2023 State IN , 2023 PG, went off for a game high 27 points and is continuing to make major leaps this season as the main man for the Panthers. Other notable scorers were Will Kirkland with 15 and Gavin Schippert Gavin Schippert 6'6" | PF Evansville Reitz | 2022 State IN with 9. Reitz has now won their first two games and will travel to Evansville Mater Dei on Friday. North, now 1-2, will travel to Terre Haute South (Friday as well) up next.
Argos Routes LaVille
The 1A Argos Dragons (3-1) were able to to continue their winning streak (now 3 straight) last night with a beatdown of a win against 2A LaVille 55-25. The leading scorer for the Dragons was 6’5 2023 SF J.J. Morris J.J. Morris 6'6" | SF Argos | 2023 State IN , who is one of the more overlooked players in the 2023 class, dropping 18 points and adding 4 rebounds. His teammate, Dylan Kindig, also had a really solid game with a near double-double with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Even though they are not ranked right now, this Argos team is one to watch for in the northern area at the 1A level. LaVille continued their struggles and have now dropped to 0-3. Argos host Jimtown next (12/11) and LaVille will host Winamac (12/10).
