When it comes to high school basketball rivalries in Minnesota one of the best is Lakeville South vs Lakeville North. These are both one loss teams with South losing to Wayzata in a close game and North dropping a contest to East Ridge in the opener when Nolan Winter Nolan Winter 7'0" | PF Lakeville North | 2023 State #98 Nation MN ’s foot was in a boot. Nolan is now healthy and the Panther line-up is at full strength coming off wins over Minneapolis South and Park of Cottage Grove.
Both teams will be in the South Suburban race and both teams are fighting for Section 1AAAA position along with Owatonna as they battle for that spot in state. So you have two talented, well coached teams who are big time neighborhood rivals that have played fun games the last several years.

PG: ( Tyler Swanson Tyler Swanson 6'2" | PG Lakeville South | 2022 State MN ) vs (Will Drake). Swanson is a playmaker with size while Drake has handled the ball from the Panthers and been steady this season. Solid lead guard battle between seniors.
CG: ( Jackson Ressler Jackson Ressler 6'4" | PG Lakeville South | 2023 State MN ) vs ( Hudson Vaith Hudson Vaith 6'4" | SG Lakeville North | 2023 State MN ). Ressler can play both guard spots as a 6’3 guard while Vaith is a big win that shoots the ball at a high level. Different players, both have good size.
W1: ( Connor Beauchamp Connor Beauchamp 6'3" | SG Lakeville South | 2022 State MN ) vs ( Jt Thornton Jt Thornton 6'4" | SF Burnsville | 2023 State MN ). A pair of emerging, versatile talents. Both defend well, both are agile, Thornton is better going to the cup, Beauchamp will do more of his scoring with the jumper.
W2: ( Sam Fliehe Sam Fliehe 6'5" | SF Lakeville South | 2022 State MN ) vs ( Jack Robison Jack Robison 6'7" | SF Lakeville North | 2024 State #158 Nation MN ). High quality match-up as Fliehe is an excellent defender while Robison has the edge in size. Sam shoots the ball well as does Robison who will also handle some for this team.
Forward: ( Avery Mast Avery Mast 6'5" | PF Lakeville South | 2022 State MN ) vs ( Nolan Winter Nolan Winter 7'0" | PF Lakeville North | 2023 State #98 Nation MN ). Mast is stronger, Winter is taller at 6’10. Both players are off to outstanding and active scoring starts putting 20 plus points on the board each game using both skill and activity.
6th: (Marley Baah-Yeboah) vs (Brayden Manning). Baah-Yeboah is an explosive young player with a high ceiling while Manning is the senior worker that plays his role very well.
