I went to Perrysburg Tuesday Night as they hosted Toledo Whitmer, then to St. John’s Jesuit both Friday and Saturday as they hosted Toledo Central Catholic and Lakewood St. Edward’s, and then finally Sunday at Coach Q’s Keewpee’s Holiday Classic.
Kannon Klusmeyer (2022): G, 6’4. Perrysburg
Klusmeyer is a pure scorer. His confidence can be felt like by everyone in the gym when he has the ball in his hands. The 6’4 senior for the Jackets is built very strong and has a big wide frame. This size gives him the ability to score on all 3 levels effectively. He has a great stroke and is not afraid to use it as he hit multiple threes for Perrysburg. I was very impressed with Klusmeyer’s ability and willingness to pass the ball as well. He is great at hitting the drop-off man when getting into the lane. He also had a knack for getting rebounds as well.
Antoine West (2025): G, 6’2. Toledo Whitmer
Antonie West is a much-talked-about freshman for the Panthers. He is a great athlete for his grade. He is very fast and beats everyone down the floor in transition with and without the ball in his hands. When he does have the ball in his hand he has an underrated vision. He has a great ability to finish when he is around the rim. West has great size for his grade, he stands 6’2 and is already strong enough to move players that are older than him as well. He knows how to put the ball in the basket. I was impressed with his ability to not force anything all night either as it was a very fast-paced game with both teams full-court pressuring.
Justyn Toler Justyn Toler 6'1" | SG Toledo St John's | 2023 OH (2023): G, 6’1. Toledo St. John’s Jesuit
Justyn Toler Justyn Toler 6'1" | SG Toledo St John's | 2023 OH plays HARD every single minute he is out there on the floor for the Titans. Toler had a great football season for St. John’s and is now impressing on the basketball court. Toler is an athlete — he is fast, quick, strong, and very long. He had multiple impressive help-side blocks from this past weekend. Toler is also very tough as he threw his body around all weekend long trying to get rebounds on both ends and take charges. Toler is a left-handed player with very good rip and finishing ability. He also is a very underrated passer as well and handled the ball a good amount for the Titans as well.
Joseph Taylor (2024): F, 6’4. Toledo St. John’s Jesuit
Joseph Taylor is a very long and athletic sophomore for St. John’s Jesuit. Taylor is playing his first-year varsity and it can be seen sometimes but he plays hard and makes plays others can’t. He has great leaping ability that helps him defend and get rebounds. Taylor has some developing to do but I believe he will at the great basketball program of St. John’s Jesuit. He is someone to keep an eye on because of his raw athletic ability and Taylor is a very hard worker too.
