Top Tigers
Brandon Decker Brandon Decker 6'3" | SG Iroquois/Doland | 2022 State SD (2022) |6-3 G/F|
He was a consistent starter for Huron last year when he was healthy. Brandon missed the last month of the season with health issues. He had surgery this last spring. Brandon is a high-IQ basketball player. Decker is a versatile player for the Tigers. He has good size and body control for a guard so he enjoys posting up smaller defenders, but he can also step out and hit the 3pt shot consistently.
Cade McNeil (2022) |5-10 G|
He spent time last year starting for Huron. Cade is quick with the ball in his hands. McNeil is aggressive when he drives to the basket and his jump shot has improved a great deal. Cade is a very solid defender for the Tigers. He likes the challenge of pressuring the other team’s point guard.
Max Kranzler (2022) |6-0 G|
He spent time coming off the bench last year as well as starting in February. Max is a good scorer. He can score off the drive as well as knockdown outside jump shots at a high rate. Kranzler is an athletic and quick defender on the perimeter.
Isaiah Decker (2022) |6-5 C|
He is a big, strong, post player. Decker uses his body well in the post to hold a favorable position. He finishes well inside. Isaiah is a willing passer out of the post. He has a good ability to rebound as well.
Reilyn Zavesky Reilyn Zavesky 6'4" | SG Huron | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-2 F|
He saw some time last year as a sophomore. Reilyn has a quality outside jump shot. He has a nose for the ball on the offensive glass. He has a motor on both ends of the floor.
Dawsyn Rogers Dawsyn Rogers 6'3" | SF Huron | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-4 F|
He is an athletic forward that can play inside and outside. Rogers has a strong post-up game and a consistent jump shot from the outside. Dawsyn is a very versatile defender for Huron. He can guard multiple positions because of his length and quickness.
Jayden Beck (2023) |6-0 G|
He is a very athletic wing player. Beck is a physical defender who has the quickness to pressure the ball. He has a strong drive to the basket as well as a solid jump shot on the outside. Jayden brings an excellent competitive spirit to our team.
Dylan Lichty (2023) |5-9 G|
He is a quick perimeter defender. Dylan does a nice job running the offense from the point guard spot. He has worked hard to become a reliable option when it comes to perimeter shooting.
Mason Davis (2023) |6-2 G|
He will be in the mix for varsity minutes this season. Mason gives Huron another excellent shooting threat on the outside.
Roger Puterbaugh (2022) |6-1 F|
He will give the Tigers another athletic wing defender. Roger has a high motor on both ends of the floor. He is unselfish and willing to do anything asked of him to help his team be successful.
Peyton Grace (2022) |6-2 G|
He is a very good on-ball defender. Grace has nice length on the perimeter and has a knack for getting many tipped balls that lead to steals. Peyton is another guy that is willing to do whatever his coaches ask of him.
Season Outlook from Coach Jon Schouten
“We return 3 guys from last year’s team that spent time as a starter at some point in the season. We have a nice mix of upperclassman who can provide experience in varsity competition and newcomers who are eager to get the chance to play and compete at the varsity level. Offensively, we hope to be more effective in scoring the ball from all over the floor. Spacing, ball movement, and shot-making will be key to our offensive success. Defensively, we want to make things as difficult for the other team as we can whether we are playing man, zone, or pressuring the other team. In the landscape of the AA, we will have no “easy” nights. We will need to show up ready to compete every single night with good teams. The goal will be to improve each day – whether in practice or games – and be playing at a high level each time we step on the floor.”
