Suffolk Newbies & Undereported

<p>Great to be back into full house gyms to see some Section XI basketball. In the first week of action here are some new players to get excited about as well as some guys who have not been heavily covered.</p> <p><strong>Josiah Brillant.                      6”2          2023       John Glen</strong></p> <p>A long lanky wing. He has a high arching shot from three. Likes the corner three. Athletic handle. Really good leaper. Gets into the lane and is creative with his finish. </p> <p><strong>Rosean Knowles-Bryant.        6”5.       2022        Central Islip</strong></p> <p>The early season has shown this player to be a double double machine. Scoring inside off of misses or with his back to the basket. He initiates contact in the post and scores the ball. A defensive presence at the rim. </p> <p><strong>Nate Gordon.                            6”2.        2023.        Deer Park</strong></p> <p>Really strong body. Uses it to handle the ball or defend and rebound. Pure scorer. </p> <p><strong>Tawshawn Bumpers                 5”10.        2024.       Central Islip</strong></p> <p>Tawshawn has been lightning it up from three. Gets good lift and rotation on his shot. Quick off of baseline drive. </p> <p><strong>Jaidan Butts                               6”6.        2024.      Central Islip</strong></p> <p>Jaidan is another young  player for C I. Has great length. Very capable of draining the three. Can get into the lane and finish. Crafty for his size at the rim. </p> <p><strong>Raliek Murray                             6”0.         2024.       Central Islip</strong></p> <p>Has a good handle. Initiates contact and finishes in transition. Has smooth handle. Has the ability to rebound the ball lead the break and then flush it with authority down at the other end. Also possesses a soft touch around the rim. A defensive presence inside altering or blocking shots. </p> <p><strong>Grayson Flummer          6”3.            2022.           John Glen </strong></p> <p>Active strong bodied player. Goes all out every possession. Good at blocking shots. Has really good hands catching the ball in traffic and finishing. </p> <p><strong>Zy-Mel Murray             5”8           2023             Central Islip </strong></p> <p>Lightning quick guard.  Gets into the lane . Excellent handle. He is averaging close to 5 rebounds a game from the point guard position.
