I went to Perrysburg Tuesday Night as they hosted Toledo Whitmer, then to St. John’s Jesuit both Friday and Saturday as they hosted Toledo Central Catholic and Lakewood St. Edward’s, and then finally Sunday at Coach Q’s Keewpee’s Holiday Classic
Khalil Luster Khalil Luster 5'8" | PG Lima Senior | 2022 State OH (2022): PG, 5’8. Lima Senior
Khalil Luster Khalil Luster 5'8" | PG Lima Senior | 2022 State OH is a next-level player. His height is something that college coaches may be weary of but the kid can flat out play. Luster never gets sped up and plays with great pace. He makes the right decisions every time down the floor and has a very impressive ability to finish given his size. He can shoot it and will make you pay if you leave him open. Luster has been a varsity player for all 4 years for Lima Senior and you can tell with his maturity on the court. He plays hard all the time, leads by example and vocally, and runs the offensive show for Lima. Luster will get in your shorts as well defensively and if you are loose with the ball at all Luster has great hands and will take it from you every time.
Ben Morrison Ben Morrison 6'3" | SG Rossford | 2022 State OH (2022): G, 6’3. Rossford
Ben Morrison Ben Morrison 6'3" | SG Rossford | 2022 State OH is a sniper. He hit multiple threes against Dayton Dunbar. He showed the ability to catch and shoot, off the dribble, and on the move. He is very well built and looks to be strong. He is sneaky athletic as well. He plays hard and works just as hard as well. He has a high basketball IQ and is the only senior that plays for Rossford and leads by example.
Jair Knight Jair Knight 6'2" | SG Saint Edward | 2022 State OH (2022): G, 6’2. Lakewood St. Edward’s
Next-level athlete. Knight is only 6’2 but plays a lot bigger because of his leaping ability and long arms. He is a lockdown defender. Knight had a very nice one-handed dunk after stealing the ball from a Titans guard after he full-court pressured him. I was very impressed with Knight’s ability to shoot it as well, he hit 3 big threes on Saturday night. Knight also blocked multiple shots with his great anticipation and athleticism.
Kennedy Vaughn (2022): PG, 6’0. St. John’s Jesuit
Vaughn has a very mature sense to his game. The point guard for St. John’s has a very impressive ability of poking and prodding the defense until he gets what he wants. He showed this multiple times over the weekend as he got multiple layups off of never giving up on some drives and picking very creative times to attack. Vaughn is aggressive at times but never forces it, he knows when and when not to attack. He also has clamps. He has great lateral quickness, good hands, and defensive creativity. He pulled the chair out on a St. Ed’s guard and took the ball from him on Saturday night. He has a great finishing ability with both hands and loves contact when he attacks the basket. His body control when getting hit is very impressive. His jumper is a question mark but he went 100% from the FT line this past weekend and hit a big three at Findlay late in the game to give the Titans the lead and end up winning the game.
