Below are some of the top performers from Tuesday.
2022 Moussa Ngom | 6’9 | National Christian
Ngom immediately made his presence down low in the post for National Christian and was a force all game long. Ngom showed good ability to finish around the rim through contact consistently with his toughness and a constant motor as he tallied 10 points. He was all over the boards where he finished with 16 rebounds. Defensively he was altering shots and has the looks of being a capable shot blocker.
2022 Simeon Wilcher Simeon Wilcher 6'4" | PG Roselle Catholic | 2023 State #17 Nation NJ | 6’5 | Roselle Catholic
The UNC commit got off to a slow start but was almost unstoppable from late in the 2nd half to end of the game. Wilcher showed off his athleticism and ability to score the basketball in a variety of ways finishing with 25 points, 10-11 from the field and 3-3 from deep. I came away very impressed with Wilcher and I expect him to be a major player for UNC as soon as he steps on campus.
2022 Jamarques Lawrence Jamarques Lawrence 6'2" | SG Roselle Catholic | 2022 State NJ | 6’4 | Roselle Catholic
Wilcher’s running mate and Nebraska commit, Jarmaques Lawrence, had a great performance in Roselle’s Catholic win against Gray Collegiate finishing with 24 points while going 10-14 from the field. Fred Hoiberg is getting a very good shooter that can create his own shot or shoot it off the catch.
2023 Akil Watson Akil Watson 6'7" | SF Roselle Catholic | 2023 State #105 Nation NJ | 6’8 | Roselle Catholic
The first thing that stands out when watching Watson is his length and size. Standing at 6’8 he can guard multiple positions and do a variety of things offensively. There is a lot of upside and potential with him and I would expect more high major schools to get involved with him in the coming months.
2023 Marquis Cook Marquis Cook 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #6 Nation AZ | 6’8 | AZ Compass Prep
Cook was just one of the many players from AZ Compass that stood out in a beatdown on Westtown winning by a score of 75-45. Cook contributed with 16 points including 12 from deep. He was dominant with the ball in his hands and showed his ability to stretch the floor and score at a high level.
