Continue ReadingThe Class of 2024, as it now stands, runs about 25 deep. Players within that range have the potential to play Division I basketball someday, though our numbers typically reveal only about 12 per class do. #11 Emerson Tenner Jr. Emerson Tenner Jr. 5'11" | PG Cordova | 2024 State #265 Nation TN (Cordova)
Courtney Asher Smith described the game of Tenner back in June ’21. Read.
Emerson Tenner Jr. Emerson Tenner Jr. 5'11" | PG Cordova | 2024 State #265 Nation TN , Cordova: Tenner is under six foot, but he’s very skilled. Offensively, he’s a point guard with great court vision. Tanner, who debuted at No. 12, is very alert of where his teammates are on the floor. He has solid ball handles, poised at handling pressure and can knock down shots from the perimeter. Defensively, Tenner is aggressive and loves to play on-ball defense. I’m not sure if he will hit a growth spurt. It would surely help his college recruitment. But as far as his mechanics, Tenner has the tools to run an offense and distribute on both ends of the floor.
#12 Tyler Lee Tyler Lee 6'5" | SF Fulton | 2024 State TN (Fulton)
Tyler Lee Tyler Lee 6'5" | SF Fulton | 2024 State TN was a dominant forward last season. Tyler Lee Tyler Lee 6'5" | SF Fulton | 2024 State TN showed he might be able to play as a college wing. If that materializes, then Tyler is a MM/MM+ wing. His athleticism is really strong, the height is nice, but not quite d1 power forward height. Tyler plays with some fast and also young teammates. Fulton will be a fantastically entertaining team to watch this winter and Tyler is the spine that holds the defense together.
#13 Da’Ron Hall Da’Ron Hall 6'7" | PF Cane Ridge | 2024 State TN (Cane Ridge)
The breakout player in middle Tennessee. Da’Ron is a Top 10 player today and potentially a Top 5 player in the class if he continues to develop and grow as a player. Surprisingly technical, Da’Ron made it clear in November that Cane Ridge is capable of winning a State Championship. Brandon Miller Brandon Miller 6'8" | SF Cane Ridge | 2022 State #18 Nation TN has his best supporting cast of his high school career and Da’Ron is the best teammate with the highest ceiling.
#14 Jordan McCullum Jordan McCullum 6'8" | SF Harriman | 2024 State TN (Harriman)
Candidate for Mr. Basketball. Jordan is a special athlete with a long legacy to live up to. Last season, as a freshman, Jordan was rightfully named All-State. McCullum has Top 10 talent. He has to play against bigger schools and dominate, as he has throughout his brief high school career, to prove he is a Top 10 prospect. My gut says that McCullum will make that Top 10, but keep an eye out for the vultures of prep schools. McCullum is the exact tall and talented young prospect those coaches love to pluck out of their hometowns.
#15 Joshua Heard Joshua Heard 6'5" | SG Cookeville | 2024 State TN (Cookeville)
Tennessee Tech sent a coach to evaluate Joshua Heard Joshua Heard 6'5" | SG Cookeville | 2024 State TN late in November. The tall, agile guard can really score. More interestingly, Heard is surrounded by family at Cookeville High.
