PSB Charleston Showcase

Prep Hoops was out again checking out some new teams down in Goose Creek. Prep Hoops took in the games at the PSB Charleston Showcase at Goose Creek HS yesterday. Let’s check out the game results here before breaking down the players from today’s 5 games. 

Socastee HS defeats Pinewood Prep 76-71 

Preston Smith Preston Smith 6'1" | SF Socastee | 2023 State SC scored 20 points in the win for the Braves over the Panthers. Teammate Justin Alquiza Justin Alquiza 6'2" | CG Socastee | 2022 State SC finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals while shooting 9-13 from the floor. Trae Grant Trae Grant 6'2" | SG Socastee | 2023 State SC , Maddox Gifford and Ryan Repick all scored 12 points in the win for the Braves. The Braves move to (9-3) on the season. 

Thure Peters (2024) led the way for the Panthers with 20 points. Nashon Hudson Nashon Hudson 5'7" | PG Pinewood Prep | 2022 State SC scored 19 points while Tariq Shabazz Tariq Shabazz 5'9" | PG Pinewood Prep | 2022 State SC finished with 18 points. Sam Graham Sam Graham 6'2" | SG Pinewood Prep | 2022 State SC went down with an injury early and never came back after scoring just 3 points. 

Ashley Ridge HS  70   CE Murray HS 47  

The Swamp Foxes led pretty much from start to finish over the Class 1A War Eagles. Preston Smith Preston Smith 6'1" | SF Socastee | 2023 State SC scored 20 points in the win for the Braves over the Panthers. Jahlil Hope Jahlil Hope 6'2" | SG Ashley Ridge | 2024 State SC finished with 8 points in the win.  The War Eagles a last-minute replacement trailed just 35-25 at the halftime break. The War Eagles playing without Henry Evans Henry Evans 6'4" | SF CE Murray | 2023 State SC out with an injury were led in scoring by Jaylen Conyers Jaylen Conyers 5'10" | CG CE Murray | 2022 State SC with 17 points. Senior guard Tyree Prunes Tyree Prunes 6'2" | SF CE Murray | 2022 State SC added 12 points in the defeat.  Myrtle Beach HS 55   Philip Simmons HS 52  The Seahawks won the game on a last second shot from Jeremy Jones Jeremy Jones 6'3" | SF Myrtle Beach | 2022 State SC from three-point line. Jones tied up the game prior with 3 made free throws with 2.3 seconds left. Jones who scored the last 6 points of the game finished the night with just 9 points. Gavin Siegismund led the way with 11 points. Tyron Miles and Xavier Martin Xavier Martin 6'0" | SG Myrtle Beach | 2022 State SC both added 8 points in the win. The Iron Horses were led in scoring by Miles Haight Miles Haight 5'11" | CG Philip Simmons | 2022 State SC with 19 points while Matthew Lemmon Matthew Lemmon 6'5" | SF Philip Simmons | 2022 State SC added 13 points.  Lucy Beckham HS 67   River Bluff HS  49  The Bengals jumped out to a big lead and held off the feisty Gators. Lucy Beckham led 45-18 over River Bluff HS heading into the halftime break. Noah Bailes Noah Bailes 6'3" | SG Lucy Beckham | 2023 State SC led the way with 19 points, Malin Allard Malin Allard 6'3" | SG Lucy Beckham | 2023 State SC added 16 points and Thomas Oppold Thomas Oppold 6'3" | SG Lucy Beckham | 2023 State SC chipped in with 14 points. The Bengals connected on 8 three pointers tonight.  Goose Creek HS 73   Beaufort HS 44  The host Gators led from start to finish over the Eagles. Justin Britt Justin Britt 6'4" | CG Goose Creek | 2023 State SC finished the night with 21 points, Shane Potts Shane Potts 6'0" | CG Goose Creek | 2025 State SC added 16 points and Daunte Taylor Daunte Taylor 6'4" | SF Goose Creek | 2023 State SC add 11 points.  The Eagles were led by Michael Dennison with 13 points, Zyrin Odom Zyrin Odom 6'2" | SF Beaufort | 2022 State SC and James Dennison James Dennison 6'4" | SF Beaufort | 2022 State SC both added 9 points apiece.
