The Mustang Holiday Classic was filled with prospects that can contribute at the next level. Let’s take a look at a group of seniors that should be popular with regional colleges.
Ethan Scott Ethan Scott 5'10" | PG Mustang | 2022 State OK Guard, Mustang
As a freshman for Westmoore in the first year of the Mustang Holiday Classic, Scott poured in 39 points with a blazing hot shooting performance against Lawton Eisenhower. Three years later, he’s still bombing away and this time he left the tournament as a champion with his Mustang Broncos. Scott didn’t reach the prolific scoring numbers he did as a freshman, but his impact was still huge. He hit timely second half threes in their semifinals and finals victories.
To go along with scoring, the gravity he creates as a floor space is a huge benefit. Every person in the gym knows Scott has to be accounted for. Which means he creates more space for teammate Jacobe Johnson Jacobe Johnson 6'3" | SG Mustang | 2023 State OK to attack the rim, or for teammate Jacob Henderson Jacob Henderson 6'6" | C Mustang | 2022 OK to work in the low post. Scott has been one of the elite shooters in Oklahoma for the last few years and looks poised to continue that at the next level.
Jonathan Tonkumoh, Forward, Putnam City North
Tonkumoh is a battler every possession down low for North. He’s an active rebounder and uses every bit of his 6 foot 6 frame to impact the game. He’s a raw player, but fully understands and embraces his role as a garbage man around the rim for the Panthers. He did flash two plays that would catch the eye of any junior college. He had an empathetic first quarter block and then nearly pulled off a poster slam in the finals against Mustang.
The combination of size, fearlessness and high motor makes Tonkumoh a great junior college prospect. Possibly some other small college programs could be of interest but junior colleges are often great options for a development forward prospects like Tonkumoh.
Ethan Clark Ethan Clark 5'11" | SG Southmoore | 2022 State OK , Guard, Southmoore
The Southmoore offense often revolves around Clark, for good reason. He’s a multi level scorer, that seemingly never stops moving in the halfcourt. Clark navigates around screens to get open shots from the perimeter. All the movement often puts him in the right place at the right time. An example of that was when he was able to tip in a missed shot at the buzzer to end the third quarter of their semifinal game against Putnam City North.
Clark finished the week with a 18.3 points per game. He scored timely buckets but in the closing moments of their third place game against Carl Albert, he played a valuable role of drawing the defense away from Trenton Wetselline, who scored the game winner. Similar to Scott, Clark’s shooting and scoring ability helps open up other aspects of the Southmoore offense.
Tanner Morris Tanner Morris 6'1" | SG Shawnee | 2022 State OK , Guard, Shawnee
Another top shooter on the list, the Shawnee Wolf was automatic in their game against Putnam City North. He poured in 24 points and while the lefty is most comfortable sniping from the perimeter he showed the ability to be crafty off the bounce. When ran off the line, he’s perfectly comfortable with taking a couple dribbles and drilling the open contest midrange jumper. Morris finished the week with a scoring average of 20 points per game.
Jaylon Orange Jaylon Orange 5'10" | PG Shawnee | 2022 State OK , Guard, Shawnee
The football standout is the sparkplug for the Wolves. He uses the same strength and quickness that makes him a standout running back to carve up defenses on drives. Especially in transition. Orange has broad shoulders that allows him to take contact and finish tough drives. Against Putnam City North he scored a tournament high 32 points. In the following two games he scored 15 and 18 respectively against Midwest City and Mount Saint Mary. Giving him an average of 21.7 points for the week.
Keivon Hudson Keivon Hudson 6'6" | SF Midwest City | 2022 State OK , Forward, Midwest City
The lanky forward has always been one of the more intriguing college prospects thanks to his combination of size, wingspan and athletic ability. Hudson opened the tournament quietly with a small stat line performance, but his disruptive abilities were apparent when the Bombers were pressing and attempting to rally in the fourth. In their second game of the tournament, Hudson bounced back with a 17 point performance in a win over Shawnee.
Jacobi Sebock Jacobi Sebock 6'5" | SF Midwest City | 2022 State OK , Forward, Midwest City
Sebock has bounce. He backs up that bounce with a high activity level that allows him to consistently impact the game. While there is some developing guard skills in his game, the forward right now is most effective when flying around and making plays. Which he often does. He was a consistent productive presence with stat lines of 9 points, 7 rebounds, 10 points 4 rebounds and 11 points, 5 rebounds. He also recorded 8 steals for the week, showing his ability to impact the game on both ends.
