Kon II Knueppel Kon II Knueppel 6'6" | SG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2024 State #15 Nation WI (6’5 2024 W, Wisconsin Lutheran)- One of the top 2024 prospects in the Midwest went to work on Tuesday against a talented and athletic Racine Case team. He was so composed under pressure and just found ways to get open looks. Whether it was pulling up from three in transition with defenders sprinting to get into the paint, or curling off screens, Kon was lighting it up from deep on his way to 28 points. His shooting stroke is as pure as they come, and he combines that with a high release point at 6’5 that makes it difficult for opposing guards to contest. Showed some finishing ability inside off some nice cuts, and also shot faked into a mid-range pull-up.
Jamisen Young Jamisen Young 6'0" | PG Sunrise Christian Academy | 2023 KS (6’ 2023 PG, Kenosha Bradford)- When talking about the quickest guards in Wisconsin, you have to include Jamisen Young Jamisen Young 6'0" | PG Sunrise Christian Academy | 2023 KS in the conversation. He’s so fun to watch in the open floor as his handle and speed allow him to weave through defenders and go coast-to-coast to the rim. Once inside he’s a crafty finisher who can lay it in with either hand, and throw in some flashy reverse lay-ups that allow him to use the rim to ward off shot blockers looking to chase him down. In the half-court he did a nice job of getting into the paint and opening up some looks for his teammates as help defenders were forced to step in. He finished with a team high 17 points in a close win.
Gary Byrd Gary Byrd 6'2" Riverside University | 2023 WI (6’2 2023 G, Milwaukee Riverside)- Riverside has themselves a sniper in Gary Byrd Gary Byrd 6'2" Riverside University | 2023 WI . The junior guard was on fire from beyond the arc on Monday night, and Bradford just didn’t seem to have someone who could chase him off screens as he continued to find openings from three. Byrd finished with a game high 20 points, including knocking down six 3’s on the game. He adds in a strong and physical frame that allows him to play through contact off the dribble and also guard guys a bit taller than him.
Amari Jedkins Amari Jedkins 6'7" | PF Racine Case | 2022 State WI (6’8 2022 F, Racine Case)- Amari showed some of the versatility that makes him one of the more intriguing unsigned seniors in the state. At around 6’7-6’8 he’s an explosive athlete who excels in transition. He showed he can beat smaller players up the floor, and one of those occasions led to a high flying dunk over the top of a defender. Amari can chase guys down to block shots going the other way, and is comfortable defending guards on the perimeter due to his mobility. On multiple occasions Amari took his man off the dribble and dished off a last second pass to Case’s other forward on the floor. He also added in a three on his way to 15 points.
Keviyon Price (6’5 2022 PF, Kenosha Bradford)- The senior forward had a quiet first half, but picked things up in the second as Bradford came from behind to defeat Riverside. He’s so dangerous playing off the ball and just cutting into space as a teammate drives into the lane, putting himself in perfect position to catch and quickly go up for short finishes. That’s exactly what he did as time was running down, as he caught and finished through contact for an and-one that gave his team a 63-61 win. Price has excellent touch finishing inside, and is a monster on the glass due to his high work rate. A type of player who has no problem doing the dirty work inside. Keviyon also added in a handful of blocks in the second half, showing his ability to get off the floor quickly and go straight up to avoid fouling.
Jordan Glenn Jordan Glenn 5'11" | PG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2022 State WI (5’11 2022 G, Wisconsin Lutheran)- Really like the way that Jordan attacked the basket last night. He’s a smaller but quicker guard who can burst through a gap in the defense, or dribble off a screen tight and get into the lane to make plays. Not only did that attacking spirit lead to some finishes inside, but it also allowed him to get to the free throw line consistently throughout the game. Jordan finished with 13 points and 5 rebounds, while also putting up an impressive 5 steals as he was able to get up into passing lanes to make plays.
Jamari Gamble Jamari Gamble 6'2" | C Riverside University | 2023 WI (6’3 2023 G, Milwaukee Riverside)- Really like the potential in Jamari. He’s super long as a guard, and is a high level athlete. That combination makes for a versatile defender as he can guard a variety of spots at the high school level. Against Bradford he showed his ability to get out into the open floor and make plays in transition, tipping in a difficult alley-oop pass as he was going full speed up the floor. He can handle the ball well at his size, and even spent some time running the point for his team. Super versatile player that his coach can put in a variety of roles for this guard-heavy team.
