Tipton: vs Western 12/10
Nolan Swan Nolan Swan 5'10" | PG Tipton | 2024 State IN – 5’10 2024 PG: Swan is a shorter lead guard that is so smooth. Good court vision and is not afraid to attack the defense and work his way through a double team. Has a good looking outside jumper and displayed good hands on the defense. Underrated PG in the 2023 class.
Southport: vs Heritage Christian (Forum Tip-Off)
Anthony Dancler Anthony Dancler 6'2" | SG Southport | 2023 State IN – 6’1 2023 PG: Even though long term he will likely play more on the ball at the next level, he played very well off the ball in this game. Showed off some long range shooting the deep ball and had big time fastbreak slam. Made some big shots at the end to help push Southport to victory. He finished with 12 pts.
Keyon Garrett-Miller Keyon Garrett-Miller 6'1" | PG Southport | 2023 State IN – 6’1 2023 PG: Miller is one of the quickest and smartest lead guards I have seen play this year. He displayed a well-balanced game as he was knocking down big outside jumpers and was locking down on defense as he had multiple steals (he had 4). He was the best player on the floor for Southport this game. He finished with 15 pts.
Heritage Christian: vs Southport (Forum Tip-Off)
Myles Colvin Myles Colvin 6'5" | SG Heritage Christian | 2023 State #51 Nation IN – 6’5 2023 SG (Purdue Commit): The Purdue bound guard was making plays all over today. Again showed that if he is going north and south, he is getting to the basket 90% of the time. The offense ran through him, as it should, as he is a score first, score second, pass third type of guard. He was the best rebounder here as he finished with 9 rbs so was one shy of having a double-double with his 18 pts he dropped also.
Dylan Doss Dylan Doss 5'10" | PG Heritage Christian | 2023 State IN – 5’10 2023 PG: Doss is a very short lead guard that has elite quickness. He pushes the tempo when he has the ball in his hands. Offense was very quiet today as he only finished with 2 pts but those 2 pts came from a defensive rebound where he took it blew past the defense for the easy lay in.
Bloomington North: vs Franklin Central (Forum Tip-Off)
Nick Klaiber Nick Klaiber 6'1" | PG Bloomington North | 2022 State IN – 6’1 2022 PG: Klaiber made some big time plays here in this game. He was exploding his way through the defense, knocking down smooth transition jumpers, and playing some tough defense (3 stls). Very good game from Klaiber as he finished with 17 pts.
Marco Fitch Marco Fitch 6'0" | PG Bloomington North | 2022 State IN – 6’0 2022 PG: Fitch had the best motor in this game out of any player. Dude is just the definition of “tough.” Only had 4 pts but was doing all the necessary little things that needed to be done. He is the type of player every coach would dream of having on their roster.
Franklin Central: vs Bloomington North (Forum Tip-Off)
Rynell Echols Rynell Echols 6'2" | SG Franklin Central | 2022 State IN – 6’2 2022 SG: Echols had a sort of a breakout game here and he was lighting it up on the offense. Such a smooth playing style and can slide his way through contact. Got in foul trouble late in the game and eventually fouled out which proved to be devastating for FC down the stretch. He finished with a team high 19 pts.
Lyna Brooks Lyna Brooks 6'3" | CG Saginaw Arthur Hill | 2024 State MI – 6’4 2024 SG: The stud sophomore started off the game hot scoring at all three levels before eventually becoming a nonfactor in the 2H. That 1H you saw what he does best and tht is using his bigger frame to create shots for himself. On defense he had multiple blocks and had a nice possession where he drew a 5sec call on Roberts. He finished with 9pts.
Central Noble: vs Barr-Reeve (Forum Tip-Off)
Connor Essegian Connor Essegian 6'4" | SG Central Noble | 2022 State #170 Nation IN – 6’4 2022 SG (Wisconsin Commit): Essegian was feeling himself from the opening tip to the final buzzer. The Wisconsin commit finished with 25 pts and Barr-Reeve just had no answers from him in any point in the game. His jumper 15ft and out was just so smooth and dead-on. He continued to prove why he will be finalist for Mr. Basketball.
Jackson Andrews Jackson Andrews 6'1" | PG Central Noble | 2024 IN – 6’2 2024 SG: First time seeing Andrews in action but the thing that stood out to me was how scrappy he is. He did not do a ton of scoring (6 pts) but was aggressive on the boards as he finished with 8 rbs. Just did not make ant crucial mistakes and played his role.
Crispus Attucks: vs Zionsville (Forum Tip-Off)
James Smith James Smith 6'2" | SG Lawrence Central | 2022 State IN – 6’2 2022 SG: Smith a bigger SG that plays very aggressive on both ends. He has a bulldog mentality on the offense and can handle the ball well on the wing drives. Could see him being a 3 and D type of guard long term. He finished with 9 pts.
Zionsville: vs Crispus Attucks (Forum Tip-Off)
Logan Imes Logan Imes 6'4" | PG Zionsville | 2023 State #202 Nation IN – 6’4 2023 PG: Game looked to be coming easy to Imes here. Scored very well off of screens and him and Richart were scoring a ton off the pick-and-roll. Even though he is not the biggest or the strongest, he is usually the most creative player on the floor. He filled up the state sheet with 16pts, 8rbs, and 6 asts.
Edward Thomas Edward Thomas 6'3" | SG Zionsville | 2023 State IN – 6’3 2023 SG: Thomas is a big bodied guard that looked very solid here. He is not super quick and is still raw but he does have the size and athleticism to compete. Thought his defense was solid and he made some good cuts off the ball that led to buckets. He finished with 6 pts.
Cathedral: vs Covington Catholic (Forum Tip-Off)
Tayshawn Comer Tayshawn Comer 6'0" | PG Cathedral | 2022 State #226 Nation IN – 6’0 2022 PG (Eastern Kentucky): Comer had the best performance out of ANY player at Southport this Saturday with his 31 pts, 5 rbs performance. The outside jumper was automatic from him and when he was going full speed, nobody from CC was going to stop him. Eastern Kentucky should be thrilled to have him.
Covington Catholic: vs Cathedral (Forum Tip-Off)
Evan Ipsaro Evan Ipsaro 5'11" | PG Covington Catholic | 2023 State KY – 5’11 2023 PG: Isparo is a tough, scrappy lead guard. Displayed an excellent motor on both ends and was not afraid to take it inside amongst the trees. He finished with 19 pts.
Brady Hussey Brady Hussey 6'2" | CG Covington Catholic | 2024 State KY – 6’1 2024 CG: Hussey is a young CG that can really light it up 15ft and out. He was tough on both ends and thought his defense was aggressive every time. He finished with 17 pts.
Westfield: vs Homestead (Forum Tip-Off)
Braden Smith Braden Smith 6'2" | PG Woodlan | 2024 State IN – 6’0 2022 PG (Purdue Commit): Braden Smith Braden Smith 6'2" | PG Woodlan | 2024 State IN was out here doing Braden Smith Braden Smith 6'2" | PG Woodlan | 2024 State IN things and that was taking over the game when his team needed it. At one point in the game he had hit back-to-back-to-back 3s on 3 straight possessions. No question, was the best passer on the day as well. He finished with a huge 30 pts.
Homestead: vs Westfield (Forum Tip-Off)
Fletcher Loyer Fletcher Loyer 6'4" | SG Homestead | 2022 State #108 Nation IN – 6’4 2022 SG (Purdue Commit): pu u jumpers were money, started getting going in the 2H: After starting a little slow in the 1H, The Purdue commit got it going in the 2H as it seemed like he was hitting shot after shot from all three levels. Strongly believe there was not a better pull-up 15ft shooter the entire day. He finished with a team high 22 pts.
