King of the Bluegrass Recap:
Win vs Belfry 103-81
Win vs Ashland Blazer 69-66
Loss vs Covington Catholic 56-68
Win vs Dorman (Spartenburg, SC) 70-52
This is the second event PH staff has been able to be in-person to watch the Bulldogs. We had the pleasure of watching both games in the Marshall County Hoopfest earlier in December. Coach Haworth’s team has the pieces in place to make a run to Rupp. They earned the 3rd place trophy in KOB. The Bulldogs are led by star Kaleb Glenn Kaleb Glenn 6'7" | SF La Lumiere | 2023 #64 Nation IN (Jr.), sharpshooter Jack Edelen Jack Edelen 5'9" | PG Male | 2023 State KY (Jr.), and dynamic athlete Dez Lindsay Dez Lindsay 6'6" | PF Male | 2022 State KY (Sr.).
Kaleb Glenn Kaleb Glenn 6'7" | SF La Lumiere | 2023 #64 Nation IN – Top 3 Player in c/o 2023; Top 80 Player Nationally
Glenn is an athletic, powerful forward that dominates the paint. He made several plays above the rim swatting away shots or finishing ferocious dunks. Glenn continues to expand his game to find better consistency with his outside shot. Over the four games, Glenn hit six total 3s and shot 48% from beyond the arc. Glenn had a great tournament run but his best game was the final game against Dorman’s two Division-1 players, Clowney & Surratt. He showcased several low post moves, finishing with both hands near the rim. He routinely challenged shots and out-dueled Dorman. He truly dominated the game from the tip and had a monster first half that put the game out of reach. Glenn was the lone representative to the All-Tournament Team.
Jack Edelen Jack Edelen 5'9" | PG Male | 2023 State KY – Top 20 Player in c/o 2023
Edelen is a pure scorer that shoots with ease and efficiency. He had a strong tournament performance with his best game coming against the matchup with Porter & Villers from Ashland Blazer. Edelen poured in 29 points that included stretches where he was the main scorer while the Tomcats double-teamed Glenn. He had a huge first half and helped close the game that gave Male the victory in the final possessions. Edelen is a solid guard that is a huge key to Coach Haworth’s offensive strategy. He provides a scoring threat everywhere on the court and stretches the defense to give his teammates more driving lanes to make plays.
Dez Lindsay Dez Lindsay 6'6" | PF Male | 2022 State KY – Top 15 Player in c/o 2022
Lindsay is an agile forward with playmaking skills like a guard. He does a little bit of everything for the Bulldogs. He is a willing passer and someone that is always a threat to score from outside. Throughout the four games, he found cutters, blocked shots, had multiple dunks and went to the offensive glass for rebounds and extra possessions. On defense, he guarded all positions and routinely was matched up with the opposing point guard. Lindsay’s best game was the opening round contest against Belfry. He finished the game with a double-double, 14 points, and 11 rebounds.
