King’s Christian HS Senior Guard Jordan Hansen Jordan Hansen 6'6" | SG King's | 2022 State WA – The leading scorer through two days of the tournament, Hansen came out hot hitting his first few jumpers to push King’s ahead early. He has a sturdy frame at 6’7 and used it to look straight over defenders and bury shots. He leaned more on his inside game in the second half on his way to another 30 burger on over 60% shooting. He is thriving as the King’s number one option this year.
King’s Christian HS Freshman Guard Cam Hiatt – Hiatt is one of those freshmen that make you take an extra look at the program just to be sure you read it right. Always on balance, Hiatt sets a strong base for nearly all his shots. He’s a three-level scorer, and if he’s open, it’s bottoms baby. Hiatt continues to impress in his first high school season. He finished with 19 points against Silas and shot perfect from both three-point and the foul line.
Silas HS Junior Guard Keon Dewalt Keon Dewalt 6'4" | SF Silas | 2023 State WA – Dewalt set the tone early starting on defense. He was stout inside and had active hands, getting pokes and tips, stealing possessions away from the Knights. He found the range in the first, hitting a couple corner threes. When it felt like the game was slipping away from Silas early in the third quarter, Dewalt decided to take over. Whether it was driving and finishing, dishing, or playing tough defense, Dewalt was in the zone. He finished with 24 points and 3 helpers, with an 76.9% eFG, leading a big comeback that fell just short.
Westview Vs. Eastside Catholic
Eastside Catholic HS Senior Guard Louis Grante-Halliday Louis Grante-Halliday 6'6" | SG Eastside Catholic | 2022 State WA – The tall guard continued his big play into the second day of the Hardwood Invite. Halliday has a unique combination of skills that make him a nightmare matchup. He’s tall, strong, and has exceptional court awareness. He can shoot (3/3 3PT) and he’s strong and quick enough to muscle his way to the hoop. Whether the defender is up tight or sagging off, he can see right over the top of the defense. In this matchup he made his mark inside, getting O-boards, creating chances, and finishing through contact.
O’Dea Vs. Bellevue
O’Dea HS Junior Guard Mason Williams Mason Williams 6'4" | PG O'Dea | 2023 State WA – Those who watched the game will remember Williams for hitting two huge threes with time running down. It’s often those moments when players stop thinking and just play when you see what guys are truly made of. Williams showed he’s one to watch. He has a pure stroke with good elevation, unbothered by swarming defenders. He seemed most comfortable in transition with some nice behind the back dribbles and changed speeds well, keeping the defense off balance.
O’Dea HS Senior Guard Owen Moriarty – Moriarty didn’t need to dominate the ball to have an impact. He was smart with his touches, picking and choosing the right play for the team, and exhibited great poise and leadership. He is a crafty guard with a lot of moves to create space for a shot. He went in the lane a few times with a nice euro-step on his way to a bucket. Fundamentally sound and smart with the ball, Moriarty is what you hope to have in a team leader.
Bellevue HS Junior Guard Brady Kageyama – Stuck behind two seniors last season, Kageyama has emerged as a breakout player in the KingCo 3A. It all starts down low for Brady, who has an exceptional burst and bounce off the dribble. This allows him to cover a lot of ground and fast, making jimmy’s over taller defenders easy. When he gets to the rim he can scoop, float, or go high off the glass with both hands.
Bellevue HS Junior Guard Alex Yu Alex Yu 6'3" | CG Bellevue | 2023 State WA – Yu has broad shoulders and a wide frame. He has great body control to guard his shots inside, and his herky-jerky, stop-and-go style of play keeps defenders trailing on his hip. He’s strong and has a long reach which allows him to get off almost any shot near the hoop. He led the Wolverines with 14 points, 3 steals, and chipped in a blocked shot.
