Jamar Belfield Jamar Belfield 5'10" | PG Paterson Charter | 2022 State NJ , 5’10 PG Paterson Charter 2022
The Lions made the Group 1 final in 2020 before the NJSIAA state tournament was shut down due to COVID and they should get back there with Belfield in the backcourt. The 5’10 guard is lightning quick with the ball in his hands, making it hard for opponents to keep him out of the lane. Belfield makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and can finish around the basket. He plays with quick hands on the defensive end and is a good rebounder for a guard his size. Belfield’s ability to run the offense effectively makes Paterson Charter a team to watch in Group 1.
Cian Medley Cian Medley 6'0" | PG Camden | 2023 State NJ , 6’0 PG Camden 2023
Medley has been a key part of Camden’s success over the past two seasons and will be again in 2021-22. Medley knows how to get his teammates involved in the half court and makes plays when he gets into the lane. He is a tough on-ball defender and is capable of hitting open jumpers from behind the arc. Medley is a tough, lead guard prospect who will run the Panthers’ offense this season.
Billy Anderson Billy Anderson 6'7" | PF Colonia | 2022 State NJ , 6’7 PF Colonia 2022
Anderson is a breakout player to watch as he provides the Patriots with a good all-around skillset. The 6’7 forward has a strong frame which he uses to get position down low and finish around the basket. Anderson has a nice touch on his free throws and can knock down shots in the mid-range. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is an underrated shot-blocker. Anderson is a physical forward prospect who is in store for a big 2021-22 season.
Zy’ree Beverly Zy’ree Beverly 6'6" | PF Elizabeth | 2022 State NJ , 6’6 PF Elizabeth 2022
The Minutemen are always a tough team to beat in Group 4 and Beverly’s presence down low will be a reason why. The 6’6 forward does not mind mixing it up in the post as he fights for positions in the paint at both ends of the floor. Beverly sets good screens in the half-court and is developing a nice touch around the basket. He scraps for rebounds at both ends and is a strong post defender. Beverly is a hard-working forward prospect who will be a key part to Elizabeth’s success this season.
Elijah Flournoy Elijah Flournoy 6'3" | SG Covenant College Prep | 2023 State NJ , 6’3 SG Bergen Catholic 2022
The Crusaders are loaded with backcourt talent, but Flournoy will still be able to make an impact this season. The 6’3 wing is a big-time athlete who finishes nicely above the rim and can draw contact. Flournoy has an underrated handle and moves well off the ball. He has the athleticism to defend both guard spots and is a strong rebounder for a guard. Flournoy does the dirty work for a talented Bergen Catholic team with aspirations of repeating as Non-Public A North champions.
Christian Pierre-Louis Christian Pierre-Louis 6'2" | SG Roselle Catholic | 2023 State NJ , 6’2 SG Roselle Catholic 2023
St. Peter’s Prep transfer Alif Bass Alif Bass 6'1" | PG Roselle Catholic | 2022 State NJ was also an option here, creating a tough tandem in the backcourt alongside UNC commit Simeon Wilcher Simeon Wilcher 6'4" | PG Roselle Catholic | 2023 State #17 Nation NJ . Pierre-Louis is one of the top defenders in the class with his quick feet and confidence. The 6’2 guard fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is capable of grabbing rebounds over bigger opponents. Pierre-Louis attacks the basket with a purpose and is unafraid of drawing contact on his way to the rim. The combination of Bass and Pierre-Louis provides Roselle Catholic with a pair of tough guards who will do whatever it takes to win games this season.
