Here were the senior forward standouts from the 8 teams:
Yohan Traore Yohan Traore 6'10" | C Dream City Christian | 2022 State #7 Nation AZ Dream City Christian (Pictured)
A talented face-up power forward. He can shoot it easily to the 3pt line mostly off of catches but creates a little for himself inside too. He can drive it to the cup and throw it down way above the rim. He rebounds at a high level and is one of the top players on the Grind Session.
Jaxon Kohler Jaxon Kohler 6'9" | PF Southern California Academy | 2022 #49 Nation CA-S Southern California Academy
Mr. fundamental scores it arguably better then anyone on the West Coast inside the paint. He can shoot 3’s with range adding to his impressive repertoire and he will outwork you down low with elite post footwork. He uses up and unders, hook shots, ball fakes, fade-aways and a top-notch layup package.
Silas Sunday C 6’11 Our Saviour Lutheran/NY
A massive post player has leaned out and he moves better from end to end. He has soft hands and keeps the ball high on rebounds and will go back up quickly to score. He has a nice touch off the glass and he is a good passer from the high post and finds players over the top of the defenders.
Colin Smith Colin Smith 6'8" | PF AZ Compass Prep | 2022 State #115 Nation AZ AZ Compass Prep
The catch-3pt shooter on the team is clearly Smith. He can also dribble drive and lay it in traffic. He is a sneaky good passer and fights hard to rebound.
Jorge Ochoa Jorge Ochoa 6'8" | PF La Mirada | 2022 CA-S Veritas Prep/CA
A scoring power forward is highly skilled. His go-to move is the pull-up off dribble from mid-range and he can hit the catch-3. Once he gets rolling, he can rattle them off quickly. He is a rugged rebounder and can flush it down. He has recently leaned out
Jeremy Foumena C 6’10 Orangeville Prep/CAN
A face-up 5-man moves well from end to end. He can euro to the cup showing good fluidity. A plus athlete who will play above the rim on the break. He has a drop step move to utilize and can post up and fall-away to score.
Amir Locus PF 6’7 Eduprize
An athletic forward is comfortable from mid-range and he has the catch-3. He is good on the glass keeping plays alive and he will dunk the ball in transition. He recently transferred to Albuquerque Prep.
