Young Talent
6’0 Ace Reiser Ace Reiser 6'0" | PG Alta | 2024 State UT || Bingham High School || 2024 ||
The young PG made his debut as the starting PG and he was solid. It took him awhile to get going but he did great. Had a solid 10 points. He created for himself and he found the open man. Like the way he is reading the floor and being patient. Good thingd to come from Ace moving forward.
6’3 Tiger Cuff Tiger Cuff 6'4" | CG American Fork | 2024 State UT || American Fork High School || 2024 ||
It is just a mater of time before Tiger makes his presence felt at the varsity level. In the JV game he was doing a little bit of everything/ When he got varsity minutes and he got quite a few, he was out there to hit three’s and he did. He was knocking down open three’s. He is going to be a floor stretcher in the future when he is a full-time varsity rotation player.
The Eyeball Test
There were a lot of players out on the floor that simply passed the eyeball test but here are 4 of them.
6’5 Yaw Reneer Yaw Reneer 6'5" | CG American Fork | 2022 State UT || American Fork High School || 2022 ||
Yaw was physical and efficient. He had a lot of ISO opportunities and he would catch and rip and straight-line drive to the rim and finish before any rotation came over or he would finish through contact. He was defending and what was most impressive was his shooting touch from deep. He is a LM prospect that could play the 3. Yaw led all scorers with 20 but most of those cam in the first half (17).
6’5 Kam Dupaix Kam Dupaix 6'5" | CG Bingham | 2022 State UT || Bingham High School || 2022 ||
Kam has put on some muscle. He is up for the challenge defensively against anyone and he doesn’t give up easy buckets. He has a good looking shot from deep and he is shifty in the paint on drives. He cannot be defended by smaller guards because he will eat them up on the blocks. Great looking D2 type player.
6’3 Luke Leatherwood Luke Leatherwood 6'4" | SG Bingham | 2022 State UT || Bingham High School || 2022 ||
It is easy to see why a lot of the small schools in the are are really keen on Luke. He has a great jumper, he has a motor and he continues to improve on both ends of the ball. Great size for a SG. Luke can get hot in a hurry.
6’7 Devin Carlson Devin Carlson 6'8" | SF Bingham | 2022 State UT || Bingham High School || 2022 ||
Devin is bouncey and he almost caught an epic lob but it was a bit too high. Devin defends very well, especially when he shows. Really impressed with his ability to guard multiple positions. Devin is a 4 at the college level. could be a solid get for one of the local NJCAA schools. A lot of upside with him.
Overview
Both teams have some good young talent, American Fork seems to grow talent and height on trees. Bingham has some solid defensive principals. These two teams will be formidable contenders for a state title. AF was missing Noah Moeaki Noah Moeaki 6'4" | CG American Fork | 2022 State UT (knee) and Aaron Dunne Aaron Dunne 6'9" | C American Fork | 2023 State UT (foot). This team is tough and when they’re healthy they will have a team with experience deep on the bench.
