Kyler Staley will have updates from the Carmel vs. North Central game while Landon Bundy will be at the Greensburg vs. Jennings. Myself, I’m covering the annual rivalry between Hamilton Southeastern and Fishers. First, let’s preview five of the most interesting games happening tonight across Indiana. Also, as a reminder, the state rankings listed are from our Prep Hoops Indiana Week 4 Class Rankings.
#5 Fishers (5-1) @ Hamilton Southeastern (2-3)
This is one of the most fun rivalry games that we have in the state each year. Fishers features one of the best teams they have had while the Royals are a bit down this year. However, for tonight, throw the rankings and records out of the window. Miami (OH) football recruit leads the Tigers with 15.3 points and 7.3 points per game while 6’6″ freshman sensation Jalen Haralson Jalen Haralson 6'7" | PG La Lumiere | 2025 #8 Nation IN contributes 15.2 points per game. Hamilton Southeastern features senior wing Sam Jacobs Sam Jacobs 6'4" | SF Hamilton Southeastern | 2022 State IN who is off to a great start to his final season. Jacobs is averaging 18.8 points per game for the Royals.
Merrillville (3-0) @ Crispus Attucks (3-5)
Anytime you get a matchup between two teams who typically wouldn’t run into each other it is a fun game to watch. Senior wing A.J. Dixon A.J. Dixon 6'5" | SF Merrillville | 2022 State IN is having a great season to lead the Pirates to a 3-0 start. Crispus Attucks is definitely the best five loss team in the state with each defeat coming to very, very good teams. Christian Nunn Christian Nunn 6'3" | SF L'anse Creuse North | 2022 State IN averages a team-leading 19.4 points per game for the Tigers. The Nunn versus Dixon matchup will be a great one between two of the best available athletic, physical wings in the state of Indiana.
#7 North Harrison (4-0) @ #9 Brownstown Central (4-0)
For the basketball fans in southern Indiana, this will be your matchup to watch this evening. Class 3A #7 North Harrison travels to take on Class 3A #9 Brownstown Central. Both teams are currently undefeated and will feature a battle between two of the southern part of the states best players and scorers. Evansville signee Logan McIntire Logan McIntire 6'4" | SG North Harrison | 2022 State IN leads the Cougars while the Braves feature sophomore sharp-shooter Jack Benter Jack Benter 6'4" | SG Brownstown Central | 2024 State #121 Nation IN .
#7 North Central (5-1) @ #4 Carmel (4-2)
The North Central Panthers are riding a three game winning streak and appear to be playing some of the best basketball of anyone in the state right now. Joey Brown Joey Brown 6'6" | SG North Central | 2023 State #280 Nation IN , Mason Lewis Mason Lewis 5'9" | PG Crispus Attucks | 2024 State IN , Blake Fleming, and David Lloyd David Lloyd 6'4" | SF Indianapolis North Central | 2022 State IN are all playing very well for the Panthers. After a 2-2 start to the season for Carmel, the Greyhounds have back to back wins over Noblesville and Fishers. #8 Westfield (2-2) @ Noblesville (2-3)
If Crispus Attucks is the best five loss team, Noblesville is one of the best three loss squads. The Millers are coming off of a big win over previously undefeated Anderson and their only losses are to Lawrence North, Fishers, and Carmel. Senior guard E.J. Smith E.J. Smith 6'1" | PG Noblesville | 2022 State IN has been playing very well this season. For Westfield, Purdue signee Braden Smith Braden Smith 6'0" | PG Westfield | 2022 State IN is averaging 21.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. The Rocks only two losses are to the two top teams in the state, Zionsville and Homestead, by a combined five points.
