So who are some of the best facilitating guards in the state?
Lumberton HS Senior Guard JB Brockington takes the top spot in the state, leading all players with eight assists per game. He’s been a highly productive player for his squad and their only loss came last week against a talented SP squad. He’s an unselfish player, competes with a good amount of effort, has a nice IQ and has what we call sneaky athleticism.
Chambers HS Junior Jaylen Curry Jaylen Curry 6'1" | PG Calvary Christian | 2023 State #109 Nation FL flies on to the list at #2, averaging 7.3 assist per game. He is a prospect that you’ve heard of before as he is nationally known and holds offers from some of the best programs in the country. The fact that he is one of the best overall players in the state but also a leader in assist, shows you how unselfish of a player he is and why college coaches are impressed.
T.C Roberson Senior Guard Branden Blakely steps in at #3, averaging 6.7 Assist per game. He doesn’t look to score the ball very often but instead he embraces the role of getting teammates involved and rebounding the ball.
Fuquay-Varina Junior Guard Jake Hart Jake Hart 6'1" | PG Fuquay-Varina | 2023 State NC drops in at #4, averaging seven assist per contest. Hart has showcased the ability to faciltate to go along with some sharp shooting ability from the perimeter. His team has benefited and currently holds a record of 6-3.
Raleigh Christian Junior Guard Nicolas Anthony holds down the #7 spot, averaging just over six assist per contest. He jumped on the radar of many during his sophomore season last year and has continued to be a nice overall player for his team, impacting games with his scoring, rebounding and of course his passing.
New Life Christian Senior PG Darion Young comes in at the #10 spot, averaging just under six assist per game. The Monarchs added quite a bit of scoring this year so Young has adjusted his game and has looked to get others involved more often this year.
