The Buc Classic was full of good basketball, including 2023 prospects who rose their stocks in a big way this weekend. Here are the top 2023 stock risers from the Albert E. Martin Buc Classic.
Isaac Hester Isaac Hester 6'0" | PG Ranney School | 2023 State NJ , 6’0 PG Ranney
Hester had a big-time showing at the Buc Classic as he led the offense for the Panthers throughout the tournament. The 6’0 floor general plays with composure with the ball in his hands and is able to beat his defender off the bounce. Hester is a crafty finisher around the basket and shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc. He knows how to get his teammates involved in the half court and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Hester is a skilled, lead guard prospect that does whatever it takes to win games for Ranney this season.
Will Bradley Will Bradley 6'2" | SG CBA | 2023 State NJ , 6’2 SG CBA
Bradley had a strong performance at the Buc Classic for the Colts, as he helped lead them win the tournament title. The 6’2 guard has a quick release on his shot and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Bradley moves well off the ball, creating opportunities for open jumpers and layups. He has an underrated handle and can draw contact on his way to the basket. Bradley’s ability to knock down jumpers from distance is something that will help his stock in a big way.
Nick Valentino Nick Valentino 6'0" | PG Red Bank Regional | 2023 State NJ , 6’1 SG Red Bank Regional
Valentino has had a breakout junior campaign and it continued during the Buc Classic. The 6’1 guard attacks the basket hard as he is a strong finisher and can make shots through contact. Valentino is more than just a slasher as he can score in the mid-range and knock down open jumpers from behind the arc. He has a good handle and is capable of running the offense in a pinch. Valentino has already poured in four 20-point games and should have more as the season progresses for RBR.
Chris Venturoso Chris Venturoso 6'3" | SG Lacey | 2023 State NJ , 6’3 SG Lacey
Venturoso was consistent for the Lions at the Buc Classic as he helped them win the consolation bracket. The 6’3 guard lived at the free throw line as he was consistently drawing contact. Venturoso has a nice touch on his floater and is a good finisher around the basket. He is a strong rebounder for a guard and moves well without the ball. Venturoso is a tough, guard prospect who is at his best going to the basket.
Bruce Gooding, SG Long Branch
Gooding had a good showing at the Buc Classic as he stepped up in a big way throughout the three days. The junior shooting guard has a smooth release on his jumper and shoots with confidence from distance. Gooding is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the basket and finish. He has the length to defend both guard spots and is an underrated passer. Gooding is an underrated guard prospect to keep an eye on in the Shore Conference for Long Branch
