Deshawn Crawford 2023 6’3 Desoto High School
Deshawn is an aggressive guard who knows how to get to the rim with ease. He specializes in attacking the rim off the bounce and can get by defenders with his quick handle. I loved watching him break down defenders and get to a high-quality shot at the rim. On the defensive side of the ball, he is an aggressive on-ball defender who thrives in making his opponent uncomfortable by playing up on them. He seems to have a knack for always shifting his opponent’s hips and making them uncomfortable. He attacks the glass hard as well and knows how to use his size to box out and sky for rebounds. I would like to see him work on his ability to get to his shot in the midrange.
Luke Spozio 2023 6’1 Dripping Springs High School
Luke is a silky smooth guard who knows how to contort his body to get around his opponents in the paint. I loved watching his ability to consistently finish at the rim, especially after some tough moves to find space. He has some sneaky athleticism and showed off an ability to throw down a few dunks in warmups. He is a tenacious on-ball defender with an ability to defend in the full court. I would like to see him work on getting to his shot in the midrange and incorporate a more consistent floater to get over taller defenders.
Josh McGuire 2023 6’1 John Paul II High School
Josh is a large combo guard with an ability to play on both ends of the floor. I loved watching him dominate on both sides of the ball by picking passes in the passing lanes and going coast to coast and consistently finishing at the rack. I loved how vocal he was on both ends of the floor calling out screens, switches, and defensive rotations. I would like to see him to continue to gain confidence in his ability to get to his shot beyond the arc off the dribble.
Camren Roper 2023 Guard 6’1 Steele High School
Camren is an aggressive defender who thrives on that end of the floor. He is great at playing the passing lanes and coming up with steals in transition. It was fun watching him work and wreak havoc as an on-ball and off-ball defender. He is aggressive when guarding on the perimeter and really seems to man up in the paint and can protect the rim. I would like to see him focus on getting to his shot in the midrange, especially off the bounce. He attacked the rim at a high level and had some good success finishing at the rim.
