Analysis: The future appears to be bright as only one of the first team is a senior. He’s a good one though as Harris holds a number of D-II scholarship offers at this point in the year and has gotten off to a great start so far this season. If he doesn’t lead the state in scoring, Shelstad could – after all he finished in second last season. The Oregon Ducks commit currently ranks as a Top 100 player nationally. Pippa-White earned First Team 6A All-State honors last season so it only makes sense for him to repeat on this year’s list. He’s another guy that could make a run at the scoring title – if not the assist title as well. Two PIL standouts in Mosley and Hill round out the First Team, arguably the best players on the best two teams in the city.
The Second Team is where many seniors show up, notably Malcolm who has been dominating so far this season for South Medford. Ross is coming off an incredible run in football and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him and the Timberwolves make a similar run in hoops. Hamilton is the best pure point guard in the state and his passing and defense make him a guy that will earn honors without scoring a ton. Seamster was a First Team finisher last year but is on the Second Team pre-season as there may still be questions surrounding his full return from summer injury. Finally, Sucher rounds out the team as a guy who may have the least experience out of all of these guys, but is certainly not short on talent and potential.
