Jamariea Dalton Jamariea Dalton 6'3" | SG Fond Du Lac | 2023 State WI (Fond du Lac) vs Prentice Young Prentice Young 6'4" | CG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State #273 Nation WI (Wisconsin Lutheran)
Two of the best 2023 guards in the state square off as Wisconsin Lutheran hosts Fond du Lac tonight! Jay Dalton looks to lead Fond du Lac after he put up 16.3 ppg last year as a sophomore. He’s an explosive athlete with above-the-rim finishing ability, who can also put the ball on the floor and create his own shot. His athleticism makes him a threat to jump passing lanes and go coast to coast to finish. Prentice Young Prentice Young 6'4" | CG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State #273 Nation WI missed the summer with an injury, but returns for the high school season after averaging 13.7 ppg as a sophomore. He’s extremely well rounded as a player, with the ability to finish inside, facilitate as a point guard, or hit the open jumper. Because of his size, Wisconsin Lutheran can also throw him on a variety of players defensively and trust him to limit his opponent’s scoring.
Dino Cook Dino Cook 6'4" | SF Kingdom Prep | 2023 State WI Jr. (Kingdom Prep) vs Aidan Gilson-Calderon (Mukwanago)
There aren’t many games on Wednesday night, but this one should feature a strong wing/forward matchup. Dino is a sniper from beyond the arc who will make you pay for giving him too much space, but he’s also shown improvements in his ability to create off the dribble at the basket or in the mid-range. If he gets you in the paint he has a baby-hook shot that finishes at an extremely high rate. Aidan Gilson-Calderon got his senior season started off with a bang as he dropped 25 points in a win over Germantown. Aidan is an excellent shot blocker who puts himself into good positions off the ball and has good timing getting off the floor to contest shots. Offensively he has touch around the rim and is able to power through contact to score down low.
Clevon Easton Clevon Easton 6'0" | CG Madison East | 2025 WI Jr. (Madison East) vs Quinton Lomack Quinton Lomack 6'1" | CG Madison La Follette | 2024 WI (Madison La Follette)
Just a freshman, Clevon Easton Clevon Easton 6'0" | CG Madison East | 2025 WI has gotten off to a strong start this season. He scored 28 in the season opener for East, and followed that up with 11 in the next game. He has a shifty handle and plays with good change of speed which allows him to get to the rim almost any time he wants to. Clevon shoots with his left hand, but is a gifted finisher with his right hand which seems to catch defenders off guard at times. We could see him matched up with sophomore guard/wing Quinton Lomack Quinton Lomack 6'1" | CG Madison La Follette | 2024 WI of La Follette, whose team hasn’t played in over a year. He’s one of the best in the 2024 class because of his strength attacking the basket, but also his finesse as a ball handler as he’s able to shake off defenders to create those gaps to the basket.
Terryon Brumby Terryon Brumby 6'0" | PG Racine Case | 2022 State WI (Racine Case) vs Willie Williams Willie Williams 6'0" Racine Park | 2024 WI (Racine Park)
Two of the best guards in Racine are going head to head, as it’s the veteran Terryon Brumby Terryon Brumby 6'0" | PG Racine Case | 2022 State WI going against sophomore Willie Williams Willie Williams 6'0" Racine Park | 2024 WI . Brumby has averaged in double figures since he was a freshman, and will likely eclipse the 1,000 career point mark mid-way through the season. He’s so tough to stop in the lane because of his quick burst and strength, but he can also score with some finesse as he has a quick crossover and effective spin-move to create separation to finish. Willie Williams Willie Williams 6'0" Racine Park | 2024 WI loves to play fast, and he’s one of the best finishers in the 2024 class as he has a crafty lay-up package and is able to hang in the air to absorb contact and score. Add in his passing vision in transition, and he’ll be a tough player to stop in the SEC for the next three seasons.
Amillion Buggs Amillion Buggs 6'4" | SF Wausau West | 2022 State WI (Wausau West) vs Marcus Tomashek Marcus Tomashek 6'3" | SG Ashwaubenon | 2022 State WI (Ashwaubenon)
Amillion Buggs Amillion Buggs 6'4" | SF Wausau West | 2022 State WI is one of the most explosive athletes in the 2022 class. He has a long frame on the wing combined with an impressive vertical that make him tough to stop around the rim. Buggs is capable of gathering offensive rebounds and using his quick second leap to go up and finish. He also has the handle to take guys off the bounce from the wing, which has allowed him to average 16.5 ppg over the first two games of the season. Tomashek is committed to Michigan Tech and put up an impressive 23.5 ppg last season. He can run off screens and hit threes at a high percentage, or get to his spots off the dribble and pull-up from mid-range. Tomashek is extremely well rounded as a player and can hurt teams in multiple ways. It will be his first game of the season and he’ll be looking to get started strong.
