Josiah Dotzler Josiah Dotzler 6'3" | CG Bellevue West | 2023 State #225 Nation NE | 6’3 G | Bellevue West/OSA 3SSB 16U
Tall and long combo guard who is can see over his competition. With excellent vision makes it easy for him to dish out dimes. Equipped with nice ball-handling packaging, his Hesi crossover gets every defender that comes his way. With all those moves he’s able to get to the lane easily, but his head is always up scanning for open teammates. Has a nice shot can knock down open and contested shots. Has the makeup to be a great defender with his length and quickness. Averaged 11.0 ppg last season, I predict improving numbers as his opportunity and playing time are increased.
Tate Odvody Tate Odvody 6'4" | SF Omaha Westside | 2023 State NE | 6’4 F | Westside/OSA 3SSB 16U
A tall kid that can use his size to get to his spot close to the hoop or in the mid-range area. Knockdown catch shooter can hit the outside shot with relative ease from anywhere around the arc. Runs the floor very providing good spacing which opens up open shots for him and his teammates. Fearless driver to the rim will go at any defender no matter the size. Leading his team with just over 5 RPG last season showed he was able to bang with the best of them in the low post while also being the 2nd leading scorer on the team with an average of 13.0 ppg. Surrounded by a lot of seniors I expect him to fit in nicely while also being a leader himself. The warriors have high expectations this season and Odvody is a huge key to that plan.
Brennan Clemmons Jr | 6’7 F | Lincoln North Star/OSA 3SSB 16U
A big man hangs his hat on the defensive end of the floor. A paint protector who swats shots with his left or right hand easily when defenders gets in the lane. Longarm wingspan helps him block shots and snag rebounds with no effort. Comfortable while playing back to the basket and facing up make him very effective inside the paint and around the rim. Can see more moves being added to his low post package as the season continue and his confidence builds up. Last season was his first year playing varsity. He averaged 8.9 RPG which lead his team. With a nice shooting form and many in the paint moves, he averaged just 10.9 ppg last season third behind two seniors. With not much help coming back this season for Navigators I predict Clemmons having a monster season as much more will be depended on him for the success of their season.
Connor Millikan Connor Millikan 6'1" | CG Platteview | 2023 State NE | 6’1 G | Platteview/OSA 3SSB 16U
The kid is a flat-out baller. Does everything for the team and at a high effective rate. At 6’1 Connor is very shifty which he uses to his advantage driving to the bucket. Doesn’t shy away from any contact, gets to the free-throw line, and cashes in a lot. Can shoot the ball very well. With his quick release he’s able to get his shot off from just about anywhere he chooses. Sharpshooter but also a willing passer as he averaged over 3 assist a game last season,. Elite rebounder for being a guard as he led the team with a high of 8.8 RPG. A very capable on-ball defender who lives in the passing lanes. Averaged over 26 ppg last season as he was summoned to do it all last season for the Trojans, this season he should have a little more help. I still expect high numbers for the guard as he put his team on his back again this time as they go for more than a first-round exit.
Porter Bazil Porter Bazil 6'3" | SF Lincoln Northeast | 2023 State NE | 6’6 F | Lincoln Northeast/Arizona Select UAA 16U
Tremendous hands and arms length are what Porter uses to be the shot blocker he is. Having a high basketball IQ helps also. Very fast at reacting and rotating to help side for blocks and disrupting the lanes. Very good rebounder, battles, and hustles for loose balls, doesn’t give up. Uses his size for great positioning in the low post but is also able to stretch out the floor and hit open long-range shots. The older brother is gone, should be able to step out of his shadow and make a name for himself. Should be a big part for Trojans as he becomes the defensive anchor for his squad. His offense should come around more this year with more playing time and opportunity.
River Johnston River Johnston 6'1" | PG North Platte | 2023 State NE | 6’2 G | North Platte/Nebraska Supreme 16U UAA
A scoring point guard with handles and passing ability. A nice clean shot will pull up from anywhere and knock it down no matter who is in front of him. Knockdown, dead-eye shooter with a quick release and gets his shoulders squared to the hoop fast. His stop and pop shot is well beyond his age, a master of his craft already. Not afraid of any contact while taking it in and finishing at the rim with both hands. A good perimeter defender who stays in front of his opponent but also plays passing lanes very well. Led his team in points (16.8 PPG), assist (3.0 APG), and steals (1.4 SPG) which is what you want from your leader on the floor. I expect the Bulldogs to put up more of a fight this season as they look to improve on a middle of the pack season last year.
