Seymour at Fox Valley Lutheran
Good test for Josiah Butler Josiah Butler 6'3" | CG Fox Valley Lutheran | 2022 State WI in his senior season. One of the state’s top available 2022 prospects, Butler averaged 20.0 points per game last season. His running mate, junior guard Jackson Papendorf Jackson Papendorf 5'11" | CG Fox Valley Lutheran | 2023 State WI (9.0) is expected to provide an increase in production.
After a 21-7 season, how will the Thunder move on without Mason Dorn? Consistently one of the top teams in Division 2, Seymour will look to sophomore Tru Cornwell to help replace their top five leading scorers from 2020-21.
Milwaukee Golda Meir at Brown Deer
It’s now the Armani Jones Armani Jones 5'8" | PG Brown Deer | 2022 State WI (12.8 ppg) show at Brown Deer. The senior guard will take the keys to the car for Brown Deer, who lost a bevy of key seniors from last season. Look for junior guard Jamar Lampley Jamar Lampley 5'10" | CG Brown Deer | 2023 State WI (5.7) to make a big jump this winter.
Golda Meier did not play last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Interested to see how junior guard Mekhi Wesley Mekhi Wesley 6'1" | CG Milwaukee Golda Meir | 2023 State WI and company come out in their opener.
Plymouth at Valders
Valders could be much improved from their 12-13 record a year ago. The Vikings get their top two scorers, Cole Hove (10.6 ppg) and Jackson Olson (10.5 ppg) back.
Coming off a 16-5 season, Plymouth looks to repeat in the East Central Conference. One of the state’s top under the radar prospects, Jeb Nytes Jeb Nytes 6'9" | PF Plymouth | 2022 State WI (13.4 ppg) leads the way for a group that was very balanced last season.
These two teams played a tight game a year ago with Plymouth edging Valders 59-55.
Others: Chippewa Falls at Superior, Elkhorn at Milton
