Senior Adrian Cruz Adrian Cruz 6'3" | PG Sagemont | 2022 State FL dropped 30 in his debut with Sagemont and is looking to have a big season ahead. Martin County will have a big test when they play in the Kreul Classic matched up against Riviera Prep which will be one of the best games during the event coming up on 12/4. Sagemont will look to bounce back when they play American Heritage followed by which should be another great game against University School.
Centennial Eagles are off to a great start at 2-0 led by Senior Roger “Fresh” Walters and Junior Ty Owens. Ty is averaging 18 points a game and Roger at 16 points per game which has shown to be one of the better backcourts in the area. Big games coming up for them will be against Palm Beach Gardens High School and local rival Treasure Coast High School. This team is very tough to stop in transition and has good depth coming off the bench.
Morningside Academy is off to a 2-0 start and early signs are showing recent transfers are paying off for this team. 2022 Damon Leigh is averaging almost a triple double with 24 ppg, 9 apg and 9 rebounds per game while Junior Darious Moore Darious Moore 5'11" | PG Morningside | 2023 FL is averaging 14 points a game. 2022 big man Mitchely Kercy Mitchely Kercy 6'6" | SF Port St. Lucie | 2022 State FL is averaging a double double in points and rebounds and 2024 transfer Damon Folds Damon Folds 5'7" | PG Morningside | 2024 FL is Top 5 in the state for steals and assists coming off a 12 point, 9 assist, 5 steals performance in a recent win against the Pine School. The team will travel to IMG soon which will be a big early test for this new group that is already showing strong team chemistry early in the season.
Fort Pierce Central High School will make their season debut this week against 0-2 Jensen Beach High School. This is a team I highlighted during the pre-season as one to watch and I am confident they will get off to a hot start to the season. They will be one of the few teams to start 3 freshmen the only other team I know of doing that is Columbus High School in Miami. All 3 of these freshman can flat out go so look for Christian Maxon Christian Maxon 6'2" | CG Fort Pierce Central | 2025 State FL , CHRISTOPHER MAXON CHRISTOPHER MAXON 6'1" | PG Fort Pierce Central | 2024 FL and Josh Banate Josh Banate 6'0" | CG Fort Pierce Central | 2025 FL to have a big year to start their high school careers. Central will be tested early with upcoming games against Martin County High School and Centennial High School followed by a tough matchup against Treasure Coast High School. Needless to say Coach CHRISTOPHER MAXON CHRISTOPHER MAXON 6'1" | PG Fort Pierce Central | 2024 FL entering his 15th year as Head Coach will have his team ready to compete at a high level.
