Whether its up and coming freshman that are just entering high school, or seniors who are ready for one last ride, there will be entertainment no matter where you look. Today our focus is on the class of 2023 and everything that they bring to the basketball court. Whether its flying out of no where for a put back dunk, being lock down on the defensive end, or heating up from behind the arc, these kids are all special talents when the ball goes up.
Conner Kraft Conner Kraft 6'5" | PF Shanley | 2023 State ND – 6’7″/PF – Fargo Shanley (Rank: #1)
Starting off the list we have one of the more special talents to grace the Eastern Dakota Conference in some time, Shanley Deacon forward Conner Kraft Conner Kraft 6'5" | PF Shanley | 2023 State ND . At 6 foot 7 inches the skill set and athleticism that the junior possess has made him the top ranked player in the 2023 class. If you have seen Kraft play, then this comes as no surprise. The high flying prospect has made a name for himself with his all around scoring ability, forceful shot blocking, and high ceiling which will certainly lead him the next level. Be sure to get to a Shaley game early this winter, because Connor Kraft is going to fill the seats.
Raymond Brown Raymond Brown 5'11" | PG Fargo Davies | 2023 State ND – 5’11″/PG – Fargo Davies (Rank: #7)
From now on when you imagine a hard working guard that plays with high energy, I want you to think of Raymond Brown Raymond Brown 5'11" | PG Fargo Davies | 2023 State ND . A junior for Davies that can provide for his team on both ends, whether thats locking down defensively or spreading the ball with impressive court vision. Every squad needs a player that gives it their all when they step on the floor, and the Eagles have got that guy.
Max Froslie Max Froslie 6'8" | PF Fargo Davies | 2023 State ND – 6’7″/PF – Fargo Davies (Rank: #9)
Adding onto the already talented Davies group is junior Max Froslie Max Froslie 6'8" | PF Fargo Davies | 2023 State ND . A tall forward who standing at 6 foot 7 inches can spread the floor, causing match-up problems, and stroke it from deep. I believe that with an improved post game and some added size to his frame, Froslie could pose a serious problem for EDC coaches and defenses alike.
Zach Kraft Zach Kraft 6'2" | PG Grand Forks Red River | 2023 State ND – 6’0″/PG – Grand Forks Red River (Rank: #10)
Sniper, this is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Red River guard Zach Kraft Zach Kraft 6'2" | PG Grand Forks Red River | 2023 State ND . A junior who has a tendency to get the crowd on their feet with his ability to heat up from beyond the three point line. Along with that, Kraft is a poised passer who can make both the simple, and difficult feeds to his teammates. This is surely a guy who will light it up from deep this coming season, and maybe break some records along the way.
Ethan Manock Ethan Manock 6'4" | PF Wahpeton | 2023 State ND – 6’5″/PF – Wahpeton (Rank: #11)
In all of my years of watching high school basketball in the EDC, I have never quite come across a player like Ethan Manock Ethan Manock 6'4" | PF Wahpeton | 2023 State ND . As a 6 foot 5 inch forward for Wahpeton, Manock is an explosive at the rim player who resembles the motor of a race car. Some things that impressed me about the junior were the monster dunks that left the hoop shaking, volleyball spiked blocks off the glass, and energy that he brought to the Huskies. If you are a fan of highlight reel plays, make sure to get yourself to a Wahpeton game this upcoming season.
