Section 2AAAA Rundown
Seven of the eight teams in this section are in the upper half of the Class AAAA 64 teams plus Chan will be improved. There are two teams ranked in the top ten of AAAA, five in the top 20, and six in the top 25 (with Waconia making a fall league argument that the number should be seven). It’s a wide open battle of really good teams as everybody hopes to avoid the 4/5, and 3/6 match-ups. Shakopee is coming off a final four run in state so they have the edge plus EP was much better last year than most expected, and a lot of their production returns. Tonka and Edina didn’t have the 20-21 seasons they wanted but surely have the talent to make a strong 2AAAA and Lake Conference push this year. And don’t count Chaska and Prior Lake out. Both have centers that rank with the best in the state plus power forwards next to them that we think will have great years. All around it’s once again a very talented section of eight teams.
