Jacari Westbrook Jacari Westbrook 6'4" | CG L.G. Pinkston | 2022 State TX finished with 25 of his team’s 63 points and he seemed to be scoring for Pinkston every other time down the court. He was knocking down three’s, diving to the bucket for easy floaters and layups, and pulling rebounds. He was the high scorer and rebounder on his team and his size and build make him a tough player to stop as he rebounds like a big but plays like a guard.
Tarrance Warren – Red Oak – G
Tarrance Warren was automatic from downtown in Red Oak’s 80-63 win over Pinkston. He shot 7-10 from behind the arc and he was knocking down shots off the catch and off the dribble. Warren also has active hands on defense and finished well around the bucket when defenders over committed to closing out on him.
Desmeon Jones Desmeon Jones 5'10" | PG Lancaster | 2025 State TX II – Pinkston – G
Desmeon Jones Desmeon Jones 5'10" | PG Lancaster | 2025 State TX II leaves no airspace for ballhandlers, gets his hands on any pass he can, and makes everything difficult for whoever he is guarding when playing defense. He also finished with a strong 17 points and four assists, showing that he’s not just a defensive guard. He knocked down two three’s and shot an efficient 5-6 from the free-throw line.
Devin Boone Devin Boone 6'4" | SG Red Oak | 2024 State TX – Red Oak – G
Devin Boone Devin Boone 6'4" | SG Red Oak | 2024 State TX was a monster on defense for Red Oak as he collected seven steals and often would turn his steals into points on the other end for himself with either a dunk or a layup. He was able to predict exactly when players were going to throw passes and intercept them out of the air and played great defense when double teaming. Boone also showed some hustle on the offensive glass and was able to score some second-chance points.
Deivion Thomas – Pinkston – F
Deivion Thomas is an immovable force in the low post and plays his role of stretch big perfectly. He has the ability to hit the trailing three (he shot an efficient 2-3), plays excellent low post defense due to his size and strength, and has the ability to finish through contact on the low block. Thomas finished with 12 points and shot 5-9 from the field.
